I’m not. And again I’m not. I know however exactly what you are referring to, isn’t it strange you’d choose to highlight that, it’s almost as if you did something and thought you’d try and deflect something. Strange.
WTF? Where have I argued about his popularity or the vote share he got? I'm saying that blaming the press is not something I agree with for the reasons stated in my post. People who supported him would not be influenced by the press, likewise those who thought he was a disaster didn't need the press to reach that conclusion. He was either popular inspite of or despite the press but it sounds like you're trying to use both arguments. More people are influenced by Social Media nowadays and the Labour party were streets ahead of using this media source than the Tories were.
The press had plenty to do with Corbyn's chances. You only had to speak to ordinary folk, normal voters who aren't into politics but read headlines etc. "Well, it said it in The Sun." He was a couple of thousand votes away from office. Mind, it's become clear recently that many powerful people in the Labour Party affected his chances too. Imagine cheering on the Tories from Labour HQ. Scumbags. Like I say, it's all a big machine run by people behind the scenes. If anyone actually believes Boris Johnson is in charge of anything, I can't help them. I am currently homeless in terms of political parties. I can't stand the Tories although I do like Sunak, he's come over very well. They'd put him in charge if they had any sense but I fear he's too nice for them. And I can't see this New New Labour doing owt for me. It's good to see the new hospitals being built in record time though. And all this new-found concern for the NHS. And also lovely to see that magic money tree was found after all. Shame it took such a tragic event to force that approach. And no doubt the Tories will be making us pay for it down the line. Hope you're keeping well, Lee.
There are few definites in politics - one might be that Tories generally look after businesses better than the opposition - but one definite is that Labour always protect the NHS better than Conservatives. At this difficult time it is a point worth remembering. The inevitable enquiry into this crisis will bring up some interesting points.
Not a problem And I say I hold my hands up ask me in Jan or Feb if I thought this is where we would be now I wouldn't believe it.
A bit like reading the likes on any post that’s anti- anything that shows the Tories up for being the rotten unbearable bustards that they are. 99% of the time Tory scum press do their job of Tory propaganda, it’s just that on this occasion an article from one of them has rightly lambasted the incompetent, uncaring shower of *****. So you then use it to try and make the above point. Like I said earlier Tories and their supporters cowardly hiding behind a sofa And occasionally popping up to take a pot shot out of desperation.
I think you're giving too much credit to the influence or the reach of the press Andy. Of course people lean towards what they agree with, that's human nature. I'm sure The Guardian and Channel Four news are quite popular with people on here but to say they are influenced by them to the point that they vote blindly without looking at other factors suggests there is no freedom of thought or critical objectivity and I believe most people are clever enough not to do that. I'm keeping well thanks, I hope you and your family are too.
That was humans verses humans ( I know calling Hitler and the Nazis human is stretching it a bit) but nonetheless an enemy that became predictable and was ultimately defeated by a coalition of determined Allies. As things stand, This virus Is ruthless, knows no boundaries, and is still being elusive to anything that can eradicate it.
Nothing strange you self righteous pr!ck! I’m merely pointing out the ridiculous point scoring for both sides. The irony was the original thing I was replying to... oh the irony indeed.
My favourite was: “nobody could have known it would be this particular virus”. Weasel words to cover the fact that they weren’t prepared for any particular virus. They were told what needed to be done in 2016 and in January to March of this year and yet they did f*** all.
“Self righteous pr1ck” wow well done you. You must feel so much better now. Very tolerant of you, now that’s irony because by calling me self righteous you were accusing me of being intolerant... isn’t this fun. It’s amazing the responses you get when you touch a nerve.
