I need to get a printer for home and it seems a bit of a minefield without being able to go into the shop., anyone got any recommendations. Don't need anything too special, Wifi, printing documents, decent photos and possibly a scanner but not essential. Won't get particular heavy use but don't want to go really cheap and end up spending a fortune on ink, Cheers
We have a HP (Hewlett Packard) one ,which we have had for a number of years. It has served us well, you can get them that Wi-Fi connect as well,I don't believe they are very expensive, they use a lot of ink if you print a lot.
I have a HP one that works on WiFi decent little printer and I could be wrong I suppose someone will pull me up,but their ink cartridges are also the cheapest .
We have HP printers that uses instant ink. Good value. Got 18 months free ink. Up to 300 pages per month free.
Yep, I've had an HP for a couple of years, cost just over a hundred quid. It's only black and white, but that suits me fine as I don't need colour. I use it loads for work purposes, and the refills are cheap and easy, which was the main factor for me.
This one is £79.99 at Argos and comes with 12 months free ink: www.argos.co.uk/product/9199314 Or this one direct from HP, with 2 years ink and 4 years warranty for £134.99 https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=6SB40B&opt=BHC&sel=PRN
I'm also in the market for a similar printer (black & white) - just don't want to pay that much, unless the cost of ink is prohibitive
I bought an Epson last year from PC World for less than £50, connects wirelessly or hard wire. Buy compatible refills from Amazon, 3 of each colour + 6 blacks for about £25. Photo quality and no problems to report.
Have a look on Freecycle on similar. There's normally pages and pages of people giving away printers (although you might have a bit of a competition as everyone is working from home atm). People literally can't give them away normally. Not sure on ink prices but the saving on the printer being free would offset some of that. Edit: just looked on Freecycle and they are only allowing essentials at the moment and have no posts displaying.
HP Envy 4507. ( Print, scan, copy and photo.) Pus instant ink, I don't use it a lot so £1.99 a month is ok for me. Added advantage is that HP monitor your printer and send new cartridges out when needed without you having to do anything.
Been using these for compatible cartridges for 10 years. Never had a problem. Www.cartridgepeople.com
