Now they are saying there may be something about smokers less likely to catch coronavirus.David Hockney mentioned this last week and now they are testing this theory in France by giving nicotine patches to some people.I guess some bad habits are good for you if it is true.
So smoking is good for you to fight against a disease that attacks the lungs whilst smoking kills your lungs anyhow!!! That’s a good analogy........I read other day too that people who exercice daily are more susceptible to getting covid too, worlds gone mad
Don’t leave owt to chance. The key message here is simple; If you go for a jog, smoke whilst doing so.
Right, let's get this sorted. I'm going to swallow a 200W xenon headlight, inject myself with a litre of Domestos, sit in a sauna for 8 hours and smoke 150 Capstan full strength cigs. That will sort the *******.
Not smoking, but potentially nicotine - and British American Tobacco were researching a cure (so might be linked!) Those that exercise regularly have larger lung capacity and more ACE-2 present. COVID-19 attaches to ACE-2, so it could lead to a large viral load (one of the suspicions for why men are hit worse than women) However, there is an argument that ex-smokers might be in a better position that current smokers - the years of smoking have reduced their lung capacity and ACE-2 levels, but their lungs have recovered sufficient strength to make it easier for them to fight it off.
In the 1990s I wrote a dissertation about the effects of Radon Gas. In my research and reading ,I came across some Canadian research on the health of Uranium Miners.( Uranium 236 is a by product of emitting through Granite)It concluded that those who smoked suffered less harmful effects in their lungs than those who didn't, as uranium miners. Not exciting ,but a Steve Wright Factoid, if ever there was one.
Well a feel loads better now you've told me that!! I best quit my training for Olympics next year then
Greenhouse Sauna on Sheffield Road had a reputation! - sure they could have satisfied your er predilections (see above) but alas it burnt down.
