I think a lot of clubs will be looking at contracts they can get out of within management at a cheaper cost than keeping them on, with no return to Football in sight.

Assistant manager Gary Brabin, first-team coach Inigo Idiakez and technical goalkeeping coach Imanol Etxeberria have also had their contracts terminated with immediate effect

I can see a lot of cost cutting coming up and large backroom staffs and expensive managers will be the first to go

Not even recruiting until they know what is happening with football.

Well, yeah. The fact they've got rid of 4 key members of staff and won't even accept any applications yet is pretty shocking.

It might be yet, football will be financially crippled and virus is nowhere near being beat, over 19,500 dead and that figure is rising steadily.
Whatever the EFL and Prem want to happen I cannot see this season being finished and the financial after effects will linger for years.

Not even a financially sound club like Barnsley can continue to operate for long if this carries on for months

I take it they’re not expecting to go back to training in a couple of weeks like the EFL keep saying then...

    What a shock.

That just says to me they are not expecting to be back anytime soon and probably was planning on sacking Jones if they got relegated, so have acted early to save a few quid.

its strange to me that you can include the words, Amicable, mutual consent and sack in the same sentence

True, there are many clubs in a precarious financial position, much worse than us

They must be in dire straits to do that. That team worked miracles last season. That could be the start of a wave of similar actions by struggling clubs.

Regarding finances for a club like us who have franchised pretty much everything out and discouraged pay on the day I wouldn’t have thought the impact would be too significant.

Players will have to learn a new trade as hundreds will be out of Football.

Joking aside with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal bricking it could the events of the ballot, goal average, 94/95 and Garry Willard be about to even out?
