Just watched this lady, who is the safeguarding minister being interviewed on GMB. The government needs to ramp up its efforts to get some better liars on TV. The public deserves nothing less!!
I am not in anyway a violent person, the total opposite in fact, but l always get the urge to give her long miserable lying face a good slap when she’s on the telly. Ended up turning the sound off this morning.
The government should stop putting these muppets on GMB all the time to get trashed by Piers Morgan when they don't know what they are talking about. She learned nothing from her colleague last week going as she went and laughed too.
And to go back to those who complain about us bringing politics into it - she isn't being attacked by Morgan because she is a Tory ( Morgan is a Tory for a start) she is being attacked because she is incompetent and unable to see how stupid she sounds in her response to a question that is really quite important. As for the Science being the reason for downgrading it - what science - all the science I can understand implies its a disease that requires maximum PPE for the medical staff. If there is some science that makes that not necessary can someone explain that to me, and more importantly to the staff involved - otherwise I will have to believe they are hiding behind science to cover for the real reason which is they haven't got the equipment needed
Or they should go back to refusing interviews and hiding in Fridges - well over 40% of the UK voters in the liked that approach so much they voted for them.
Maybe i'm missing something but why would a safeguarding minister know anything about PPE? Their portfolio is related to reducing domestic abuse, child abuse etc? Im a diehard labour voter before anyone has a go! She appears to be laughing because shes being brought on under the pretense that she would be talking about DV. Is he going to do the same with the minister for sport etc too because the two are about as relevant to the other when it comes to PPE. If im missing something I do apologise in advance!

This is outrageous Atkins works in the home office and is the government minister for care and safeguarding and as never heard of exercise sickness ( this was an exercise in 2016 carried out by the government in preparation of all aspects of a pandemic which would include her field) a bit like Rabb when asked about the exercise sickness report last week he said he could not remember it but did not know if he had read it,(baffling) all ministers of the government should have been briefed on this no matter how low in the pecking order they are, yet whenever a question is asked they don't like the answers the same "we are following scientific advise".
Well she could just say she doesn't know but instead she said it was based on science. Had she just straight up said she didnt know as it wasnt her department Morgan wouldnt have been able to really have a go at her. There is a good argument for something that important all Ministers ought to have some understanding though. Id want to know if I was a minister and if the answer was because we dont have the kit I would have a huge problem to sweep that under the carpet and just go along with it and blame science

I disagree, she should have known about the exercise sickness report as it was part of her criteria being a home office minister the more these morons get away with sidelining matters when put in front of a camera scares the **** out of me.
I really don’t get it. If I was as inept at my job as most modern day politicians from the main 2 parties are, I would EXPECT to get the sack and would know it was coming. There just doesn’t seem to be any accountability, reckoning or consequence for poor performance or unsuitability of the role as there is in most other employment. I think it’s down to ingrained arrogance fuelled by the knowledge that they’ll always get their partisan votes as the other party is always more ****.
Anyway back to ppe in nursing homes. Is it too simplistic or wrong for me to get angry with private nursing home owners that should, in my opinion, provide their staff with the relevant and appropriate ppe as my current employer has to do by law.
