You appear to be labouring under the misapprehension that you own a thread on a message board and you can control what other people write.

You can control what you write. Nothing else. And you have ownership of nothing.

You have every right to post what you did. What happens after that is beyond your control.

The only way to prevent people from replying to a subject you have introduced in whatever manner they see fit is to not introduce the subject in the first place.

Fully understood. I own nothing on here, with the exception of my opinion. It’s my opinion that this country is like every other in the grip of a very real and dangerous virus. My opinion is that the birth of a child is of great joy. My opinion is that personal digs at the father, or the fathers job is out of order.
Your final paragraph offers a solution to prevent these replies is not to post in the first place ? There is another solution..... don’t try to switch a nice congratulations post about a child being born, into a political or personal attack. Or is that beyond some people ? in which case it would say more about them than the original post or it’s motives ?

Nothing anyone else says undermines your opinion nor taints it. It remains, in black and white, unsullied.
