No matter how the league finishes there are going to be some teams that aren’t happy. If they award the league to Liverpool,City will complain saying they could of caught Liverpool and so on
Could anybody deny Liverpool there first premier league title with them been 25 points ahead and only needing 3 more

Force Majeure is the only way (kill the season)
They must have it in the rules (done in lower leagues)
If so then it is legally binding and no way legal challenges can be brought as this is what they will have signed upto and agreed

    My thoughts anyway.

But it’s actually about the money they will have to pay back to the broadcasters if they don’t complete the season isn’t it?

It's a shame for Liverpool *. You just know Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Man Utd are the main benefactors and will regroup.

The main problem for Liverpool will be the pyschology around the * even if they get the league it's tainted.

What is the amount, ive heard its around 200 million but really no idea.If correct that works out at 10 million a club.Wednesday paid that for Rhodes 3yr ago.I am sure both football an tv would be able to come to some agreement. Both parties want each other.

Sorry but TV and the Premier League squabbling over cash is like watching two ants squabbling over a crumb unaware of the boot about to squash them flat. There could be a depression coming, football will be the last thing on your mind, or rather paying lots of money to watch it will.

From what ive just read online the meeting has finished AND THHEY ARE STILL HARPING ON ABOUT FINISHING THE SEASON.

Think players may tell them to bugger off due to possible catching Covid 19

These meetings should't be about dates and whether to finish this season or not. The FA / PL / EFL should be working with Govt and medical scientists to understand what criteria needs to be met before you can consider it safe to play. They should also be talking about how to safeguard the clubs that depend on attendances / gate receipts against the fact that games won't be played in front of a crowd for a long while yet.

Way things are going, wouldn't be surprised to see this season cancelled, only to find they can't play again till next year and wishing they could just resume from where this season was postponed.

All of that is happening but it isn't what people with an agenda pick up on. People just need a bad guy and football for daring to put plans in place is the bad guy chosen despite the fact that companies up and down the country are holding similar meetings without the public scrutiny

I think I read somewhere that it’s £45m per club. OK if you are Man City but less so if you are Bournemouth?

Who really cares bar Liverpool fans. I can see the argument from both sides. And don't give a monkey's about the outcome.
    Love Barnsley hate football.

See German team (think Cologne) reporting 3 players confirmed with Coronavirus.
I also read yesterday that the bill for TV will not be as bad as people think for teams, couple of reasons for this theory:

TV money is paid to the league who then distribute to the clubs so technically it’s the league who owe not clubs.
Sponsorship monies are different to purchases in legislation, in that it doesn’t necessarily follow that it works out on a pro rate basis.
To compensate towards loss of games, TV has been given far greater access to players and managers etc.

I have no clue on validity of claims, just thought would offer as an alternative narrative.

That was yesterday. Today it's that we might end up back at Football for the start of next season....

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...-trials-lockdown-fully-lifted-mid-summer.html

Sounds promising. Get infections down, do the test trace isolate to keep them down and then the small percentage of the country who get really serious symptoms hopefully have a drug they can take to quickly get better.
