How many times were you approached about the Barnsley job and did you ever get closer than saying "No thanks"?
What do you think the outcome of this COVID crisis will be? Do you still want to be involved & what type of job would you take.
Haha I can remember having a go at him at the time about getting sent off, he showed me the teeth marks and his arm was black and infected. He says to me what would you do if someone did that to you, so I said thump him, he says I did that and got sent off
I don't think Mick would be afraid of Keane. When you really think about it, Keanes attitude is a defence mechanism and I would bet if you stood up to him, he would crumble. In a video I saw on You Tube Keane admits that Clough hit him and actually made him cry. Others who stood up to him were Jason McAteer, Alan Shearer and Patrick Viera. The one person who had total control over him was Sir Alex Ferguson, who is on record as saying " the hardest part of Roy Keane is his tongue."
One question - what are your memories of playing for Keith Steele, son of Johnny, at Barnsley Boys Club before you joined Oakwell at Keith's suggestion? https://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/23902/mccarthy-barnsley-close-to-my-heart https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mick-mccarthy-barnsley-boy-born-156503 And please pass on my congratulations for his refusing to shake Thatcher's hand at the 1988 Scottish Cup Final; https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/13100085.players-were-pressurised-into-meeting-thatcher/
