But there's been plenty of folk on here over the last few weeks hoping for the season to be played to a conclusion too.
    I don't.

A vaccine or the ability to use a reliable antibody test would uplift the nation.

    Football would not.

    At the two mutually exclusive?

Football is entertainment to people and he's right it would cheer quite a few up in the same way that Britain's got talent does.
BUT that doesn't mean that corners can be cut. Football should be lifting people's spirits once it's been decided it's safe to do so using the sake rules that other businesses and people have to apply. If the government says anyone can play football down the park next week then football can restart behind closed doors. If they say we can't go for a kick about then it can't. Its really as simple as that.
Whether it's Wayne Rooney or Wayne from worsbrough the rules should be the same.

Merkel's call: can't see one of the most shrewd world leaders allowing this to happen quite yet.

They had a meeting yesterday or today and are expected to give the ok. These are just reports though so may be wrong or subject to change/conditions.

It's moved quickly from Hancock vilifying footballers for not taking pay cuts to this.

The best and most sensible way for the imminent return to football would be that if any player at any level develops symptoms, the premier league and efl have to donate 2 hundred million per player to the nhs. See how confident they are then the ******* parasites
