Unfortunately for our PM, the PPE he needs to protect him from terrible bashings heading his way from Kier Starmer at PMQs hasn’t been invented yet. More tory lies exposed today.

Starmer really does come across well doesn't he. Makes a nice change to have a competent leader of one of the two major parties! Cameron, as much as I disagreed with his politics, was the only other from the last decade or so.

Outwardly, at least - remains to be seen if he can keep it up, but I'm hopeful!

Not sure about Cameron. Leading us into the debacle that is Brexit was pretty incompetent. Agree about Starmer though.

He's a QC and PMQs is basically cross-examination. Johnson will get battered week in week out.

What I couldn't fathom with Cameron...was why he backed remain after coming back from the EU with his tail between his legs after asking for extra powers.

He presumably offered the referendum because he had the hump with the EU?

Joking aside I thought he contradicted himself. He went to Europe with an I'll show them attitude and backed remain.

He offered the referendum because he thought it would put an end to tory division re Europe. However, the simple answer is, he did it because he thought remain would win. What a colossal miscalculation

And we'll all lose out for decades due to his trying to appease his party

It's well documented that it was his attempt to get some semblance of Tory unity by settling the argument with the ERG mob, as he fully expected to win the referendum. I'll never forgive the b*stard.

He was never a fan,he was PPS to Norman Lamont and Osbourne was PPS to Nigel Lawson. You only get PPS jobs if your views coalesce with the Secretary of state. They were beligerent about membership of the EU, at best. Labour having Corbyn campaign for Remain, was embarrassing. We never stood a chance plus the Analytical Algorithms and the Right Wing Terrorist murder of Jo Cox. The Liberal, Democratic, Left wing parties and journalists have been cowering in fear since.
The murder of a innocent young MP,should have turned our country in a positive nation wanting to do good. Instead it has voted in the most Fascist government in it's history, social changes and deconstruction introduced in the 1950s and 60s, rolled back. Opportunity and aspirations for everyone, not just a elite minority, wiped out. Personal Rights, freedoms and equalities, taken away without a fight. The propping up of a dissolute monarchy and heirarchial system.1% of the population owning over 50% of the land.
It's not about political ideology or party,it's about being a good human.
It's the 21st Century, I'm old but I still want to and have the desire to fight back, to have a modern democratic country that benefits everyone and represents all of us irrespective of our background, religion, skin colour, wealth or lack of it.

I always thought he had the referendum on the Tory manifesto to stymie Farage and the UKIP progress

He went to the EU with a shopping list written by the ERG; the EU had no chance of giving him half of what he asked for because we already had it.
