A bit over the top but I can see a case for changing the law for spitting at someone whilst we have a highly contagious epidemic. This is not mere 'common assault' under the present circumstances.
Surprised the eldest isn't with her dad. He left a message earlier on a group to tell people who post the mother to hide the indentity of his daughter.
From what I was told they were arrested and released on investigation before they saw the CCTV then re arrested after they got the footage. The only thing I can think of is that the victims description of the attackers would have been a dirty blonde lass with a group of 6 or 7 men in the town centre and that group are well known for causing trouble around the town centre so they could have arrested based on that.
They were originally released pending further investigation, they must have been arrested on the evidence of that video unless the CCTV in town was switched on - we have a new system, they may have plugged it in, who knows.
The police couldn't originally get a statement from the victim without an interpreter. Hence the release of the gang. When they could get a statement, they re-arrested them. Hence the "new information".
True. Maybe as you said the group was caught on the town's CCTV in the area at the time and matching the description so they could identify the suspects but it wasn't until they found the footage of the actual incident that they had any firm evidence to charge them with
Not 100% sure that they were arrested due to the police having actually seen the video at that point. The police saw it before they were released.
I'd be pretty pissed off if they were released after they had viewed that footage. In the 90s they once kept me in for a full weekend, I'd not hurt anyone - they were just waiting until the mushrooms had worn off.
In 2020 I was kept in for months so Mavis could go to Asda I know, I know, don't worry it wasn't a serious post. She goes to Morrisons really.
I found out yesterday that my daughter knows one of the lads involved. Well I say she knows him; she knew him a few years ago when he was going out with one of her mates. She reckons he was a nice enough lad until he got into drugs and has now become the little toerag we saw on the footage.
