A goal every 3 games ish at his last club/season suggests he knows where the net is. Obviously the caveat is the standard of the League he came from. The Championship I suspect is just too quick for him at minute and he gets passed by (goes missing), hopefully more time and space will help. Deep down I know you hope I’m right.
Still a baby in terms of stature, hopefully a season with us and a good preseason will toughen/strengthen him up.
We will though, the leagues ****. Look at our last two promotions, the Wembley season we only started playing at Christmas to give others a chance. In our last 75 games at that level we have won 46 drawn 18 lost 11. That's 95 points over a season.
I agree. He should see more of the ball and I think what he has shown on the ball this season, he has looked pretty good. His main issue is that he hasn’t seen anywhere near enough of said ball but dropping down a division should help with that. I hope!
Keeping the squad will, like it usually is following relegation, be tough as teams will circle for our better players that have been mentioned in this thread. Although, I don’t really know how football comes out of all the current situation. It wasn’t “real life” with the finances around it before so maybe this will make it come down a bit and give us a better chance of keeping some players. Probably not though, clubs will probably go back to spending money they don’t have immediately.
I wish I had your confidence I just think of Sunderland who should of walked it on paper past two seasons. And sheffield united when they went down it took them 6 seasons to get back to the championship. A good manager who can gel the players and a couple of accusations needed for me.
Your right no supporters at games until at least next year many league one and two teams will fold before then without help.
Is McGeehan still under contract next season? If so, we should definitely keep him for a league 1 campaign...
He is but will only have 12 months left so we will try offload and recoup some of the 1million we paid I'm.guessing.
I`m sure I read that Colonel Mustard had died of coronavirus in a care home and Mrs White had been furloughed.
It's a shame Struber doesn't fancy him. Very rare a player comes back into the fold after being away on loan unless there is a change of Head Coach.
We said exactly that on our last two relegations and looked what happened. Those two were much bigger clubs than us in that league and you'll have to ask them what their problems were. We seem to have a knack of getting out of that division fairly quickly, look at the last three promotions.
I think it's because our club model relies heavily on the extra revenue from getting into the Championship and auctioning off our better players. If you have a sustained spell in League 1 the likelihood is you won't have better players to sell on.
