If say the new season starts on time but we can't go back until for example October. Then for two months until half season pass is available from Christmas people are going to be paying out a lot with POTD to go.

It all depends on the government but I reckon they will want the money large events bring them as soon as they safely can, so I'm confident if we miss some games it won't be many.

 

And how much is a shirt to buy normally? Around £40 by any chance!

 

Would agree mate. But I don’t think the board have in their ideas catered for anyone who suffers/are suffering hardship at this time. The direct debit free interest. not being available, a big blow to lots.
I believe and stand corrected. The club cannot offer this type of facility in house so to speak for legal reasons. If they could I’m pretty sure they would implement it. ( I think when we discussed it at a fan engagement, It was to do with the legal side of what if someone stops paying.) one for the club or if Gally can recollect what was said.

 

Not far off mate. But let’s hope they get the amount of stock they need up front. And not having to wait 6 months after they’ve run out. Guessing they’ll all be Xmas presents by the time 20/21 starts.

 

Don’t have a consumer credit licence, Fca knowledge etc for lending.

 

I must admit, I have succumbed and bought mine for next season. I am in the fortunate position of being able to do so but I fully understand and sympathise with other people’s concerns. It is a big ask to buy something that may never materialises and especially if there is no agreement to show the games on iPlayer if the season starts behind closed doors.

 

The wording is "If EFL and broadcasting partners permit all 1st team games played behind closed doors will be free to watch via iFollow stream." i.e. you're not guaranteed to be able to watch via iFollow.

 

I noticed on the FAQ’s that the preferred provider was not available. But if they’ve any sense they’ll get one set up well before the 30th June deadline. Obviously free interest would be nice, as before. But with the lowest rate possible if not.

 

I expected them to offer season tickets at around £150. I also expected us to be able to have a pro rata deduction for the games this season we will miss. Not for me at those prices.

I didn't notice that away games were included too on the Reserved+. I've been meaning to buy a shirt for years (haven't had one since Barnsley Building Society sponsorship days) but I never like them until it grows on me near the end. I can't justify gambling another £40 though (although I do understand that that bit of it is actually not a gamble as you do definitely get the shirt if nothing else), the away match games only happen if I definitely can't use my season ticket so I don't want that to happen of course.

 

I would assume that Sky are unlikely to be too much of an issue if next season sees us plying our trade in League 1.

 

If I may think (type) aloud:

Pros to buying:
+ Guaranteed to keep my seat when we do eventually restart (this is important to me as I attend alone so I like knowing the people around me - although I can't guarantee that they will be renewing of course!) and it is comes with a great view
+ Even if I only get to attend 13 of the games, if fans are allowed in later on in the season, then that works out at £20 a ticket which would seem fair enough
+ If I can watch home matches on iFollow then it works out at slightly more expensive than it does to watch on Opera Airlines for each match and I may get to actually see some live too

Cons to buying:
- I may not get to go to any matches and £249 is more than I would spend on an iFollow subscription (which I'd better cancel actually otherwise what am I paying that for on top?)
- I may not get to go to any matches and it may not even be on iFollow and so £249 would have been spent on nothing (I would then expect a refund because if I can be refunded for the 4 matches this season, why could I not be refunded for the same thing next season?)

Either way, I definitely won't be decided until June 29th, anything could happen between now and then.


Edit: Still pondering aloud. I was definitely going to get the flexi ticket and give it to my dad but actually, if I do renew, I may get the refund as at least that's £60 off of the gamble (sorry dad).

 

If you pay by credit card, surely you will be covered by your card provider if the season goes ahead behind closed doors and the iFollow option (or equivalent tv offer) doesn't appeal. Refunds will be due. No different from any other transaction where goods are not delivered as ordered. Football clubs may wish to believe that they live in some kind of alternate reality, but they really don't.

 

I'm not so sure. I've never before bought anything with the seller saying up front 'you may not get anything'. Well I have but they're usually governed under gambling laws

 

I can’t quite make up my mind about the press releases over the last couple of days.

The annual wage bill two years ago when we were in the championship was c£10.5m, which suggests that the solution to their £400k hole shouldn’t be solely to ask the loyal fan base to support this. Many businesses are debating headcount reductions, temporary pay cuts etc. in boardrooms up and down the country.

With between 20-25% of the UK furloughed it doesn’t feel quite right that the club are pulling on our heart strings and/or asking us to commit money for next season in blind faith/love for the club.

Have the players and CEO taken voluntary 20% pay cuts? May have missed it but I can’t say that I’ve seen that they have. Had Dane, Struber and the top earners chucked 20% in, I’d probably waive my refund and renewed without a second thought.
