Would like to see what people are doing. A) Renewing regardless of wheter we can go or not B) Waiting till things become clearer with Government to see if theres a chance we could go back next season C) Not renewing because of other reasons
Weighing up tbh , more from apathy and disdain for the board! Yes I support the team but I’ve never felt so disconnected from the club
I am between A and B, but tending more towards A. I would obviously like to be able to watch the games from my seat, but I also want there to still be a club when it is deemed safe to go back. In the end, I am likely to renew because the emotional blackmail will have the desired effect.
Probably A for me to be honest - we are looking at early/mid September start for the season with the late end to this one. Hopefully, things will be better by then. We'll never get to the point where we are completely free of it
Renewing regardless. I can’t think of life without the reds after 45 years of watching. If this act helps maintain the clubs future I’m more than happy to pay. I’m at a stage in life where I have a decent level of disposable cash, no mortgage or car payments and kids grown up so even being furloughed hasn’t been that big an issue. There have been periods in my life when cash flow was much tighter and I respect the fact that others might not be able to justify renewing yet if they are in that position.
‘A’ for me, but I fully understand anyone wavering. More worried about getting my money back on my holiday at the mo. No one answering phone calls or emails. didn’t book a package holiday. The airline have cancelled my 12th July flights. so hopefully that’s sorted. Car park ( Manchester airport to refund minus admin charge.) Transfers offering vouchers. Demanded refund. Apartment offering vouchers at mo. But with Spain opening to tourists 1st July. ? Trying to get refund. DIY sometimes not all it’s cracked up to be.
Almost certainly A See other post on concessions at 60 - Its worth me keeping it going even if half the season is a write off as I would get the money back in a couple of years time when I can get a concession ST. - Though I probably would anyway even if that wasn't a factor
B for me, I'll make the final decision on 30th June. As long as there's a prospect of some live games I'll renew, if that definitely gets ruled out then I probably won't.
Renewed today. The club's cash flow will be a mess. My tiny contribution will make little difference, but it makes me feel better. At least I have done my little bit to try to keep the club going. I do not wish to influence any other decision. I do not want others holding me responsible for what might happen. Like the rest of you, I know absolutely nothing of the future. It is my decision and mine alone.
I renewed last night but I get people’s uncertainty at this moment in time, especially those furloughed or self employed. There are going to be tough times ahead, of that I have no doubt.
Getting a refund and not renewing, probably nip down now and again, and go to odd away fixture. Can see why people are renewing to keep club afloat as they say, but all past player sales we where told payed for all contracts during the length they signed for
Same as mate..flghts cancelled but used bookin agent not airline direct so agency giving us runaround...also ignore emails etc. If we had used airline directly we would have had refund now.....lucky break was accomodation and tours were due to be paid week afta lockdown so dint pay em....good luck wi it...
Don’t think it’s a simple as that mate. The anticipated incomings from transfer fees cover some costs. They are not paid up front and are subject to taxes I believe.(if some of those clubs that owe us money go under you can wave bye bye to that. ) But as with owt else budgets will be decimated due to the loss of income. If that expected income that is all due, doesn’t come through. As for the foreseeable future. No income means a shortfall. In finances. Over to the experts. It’s just how I read the situation.
Leaning towards B. Think I'll probably get one unless things take a turn for the worse in the next 30 days. I liked the idea on the other thread on the subject. Think I will take my refund for this season then buy one for next season. Overall that's a gain for the club but a bit less money for me to gamble.
C. Not renewing. And that’s 3 of us who have been going for years. Lost interest with the new owners and their strategy and don’t feel attached to the club anymore. I hope things change, but got no interest in watching little boys play men and then flog anyone half decent for 10 Bob. Hope the team do well, but my money has been allocated elsewhere for now. Happy to donate my tickets for this year as I personally think it’s tight to ask for money back when it’s not the clubs fault this poxy virus rocked up.
