Twitter thread of a (Black) CNN reporter and Camera crew being arrested for filming in Minneapolis for no obvious reason, and none given at the time Strangely a white CNN reporter was not arrested - just an observation
Meanwhile police are smashing windows to instigate looting. Sounds like Orgreave and the sharpened metal fence posts...
To racists those of the same 'race' who don't share their bigotry are the same as those they hate. Also, they don't want their own actions filmed. Look at Hong Kong.
Oh it may have been denied but that doesn't stop it being true. Certainly looks like the officer named. What sort of looters smashes windows and walks away like that?
A non-looting vandal. Bus stops are a particular favourite of theirs. Plus shop windows on a Friday night.
This is a country that decides to go on the rampage when their sports team wins a major tournament remember. There's a weird stance and behaviour when it comes to looting in the US. We don't know it was a police officer though do we?
Definitely non-looting vandal. Weird outfit. Hardly incognito, wearing that and being filmed. Who knows what police officers do on their day off? Perhaps his brother is the local window repairer.
The irony . A news organization that's banged the drums for war over the last 20 years suddenly shocked that the system turns on them . What did they expect ? If a news outlets job is to hold power to account then CNN have been absent in that role . Owned by COMCAST I think , tells you all you need to know .
No it doesnt. Regardless of your views on the organisation A Journalist and Camera crew were arrested for legally reporting on rioting - and allegedly had been saying the police had been doing a good job. In anycase CNN have been doing a far better job of holding Power to account than say Fox News I would be surprised but just as concerned if the reporters had been working for Fox News by the way
Does take in to consideration the deliberate doctoring of video clips to fit their agenda? They've been found out more than most of this. CNN have been awful. Not suggesting Fox News haven't, but saying one is doing a 'far better job' is a bold claim.
Not for one minute claiming CNN are perfect - far from it but if you want a news channel to hold power to account - to say they are on the same level as Fox news is pushing it
I think saying it either way is pushing it the last few months. CNN have had to retract more stories and issue more apologies than Fox News. Issue in today's world is that it's now a deliberate strategy from so many different media channels to go big on something to shock people and gain traction/awareness, only to apologise in small print or put out a follow up tweet without deleting the original. Classic PR play and every side is at it.
If your wondering why the media is so bad in America you don't have to look far ..... https://truthout.org/articles/democ...nsolidation-under-the-telecommunications-act/ This was pretty much the begining of the end for true impartial media in the US . As it says 90% of US news media is owned by 6 companies , down from 1000s back in the day . Another one of Bill Clinton's belters , what a sellout that guy was and people wonder why folk vote trump . I mean don't get me wrong trump will do zero for them but non the less you can see how desperate people are .
Just seen Trumps tweet on the news re- when the looting starts the shootings start"! Mad as a March hare that bloke.
He's allegedly been identified by his 'ex fiance' as a member of St Paul police. I'm not going to say it's only police doing this, as clearly it's not, but to anyone who has seen plenty of protests there's nothing new in police black flag operations in instigating violence to start it and then the state has the perfect opportunity to clamp down and blame protesters.
Aye its like everything in life, things seen an heard, wot need to be seen an heard, SELECTIVITY OF IMPORTANCE
