Stick to your principles and opinions. Don't debate with anyone who won't listen to others views. Don't be forced off for the reason of bullying just leave if you are bored of the views posted. If anyone has threatened you (not disagreed) then that's the issue what can't be tolerated on here and they need naming and shaming and kicking out, not a person feeling that they have to leave for having a different view.

 

Would agree to a point. But being blinkered is not a good trait. I never got involved with Neil because what was staring in the face. Was defended without logic.

 

Proffering a humble opinion regarding numerous posts on here, I would be inclined to suggest this:

Telling everyone the same thing over and over again is just plain boring.

Each feels that they have something to say. But some just simply bleat out their own prejudices day after day. By all means carry on, if it fulfils some deep down need. But be aware - those reading, even if they agree with the substance, don't respect you for "rinsing and repeating" (a good example of careless word usage on here btw) the same things time after time after time.

There are those who are either pro/anti the government, red /blue/orange politically, pro/anti Brexit, love/hate Boris or Corbyn, despise/tolerate our BFC Owners, are for/against Struber etc. That's a healthy mix.

The ones however worth reading on this board are those who, irrespective of their stance, at least are self conscious enough to realise that saying the same thing time after time turns people off.

I can read with interest rabid socialists' diatribes along with Thatcherite worshippings and sometimes be moved by the arguments. But when they post the same soulless zombieisms day after day, like a semi-trained caged parrrot - they waste their own time.

It reaffirms to the reader what a boring person they are. Quite a few on here do it. They may not be boring in real life, or they may not have anyone to listen to them in real life. That doesn't matter on here. We all judge them on their posts, and we all know what to expect when they do post.

I appreciate of course that the more middle of the road, less extremely viewed individuals are less likely to post because they either see both sides of an issue, or don't have too much of a need to express a view on it.

But if more people posted upon the basis of what they think that people might like to read, rather than what they think people ought to be taught by repetition, things would be much better.

And those who post any form of abuse are just pathetic.

Enough of this boring post.....

 

It's a bit of an echo chamber on here at times but that isn't really surprising considering where the majority of posters come from. Having said that it is possible to have a civilised political debate with the majority who post on here even if your views are polar opposites.

There are a couple of complete tools but you can't avoid them wherever you are. Like I said the majority are, in my opinion, decent posters.

In regards of the threats from keyboard warriors there are two options. I said to you a couple of weeks ago you either ignore them or call them out and ask them to say it to your face. Don't let them chase you off here.

The fact you said at one point you don’t know any posters on here you ain’t half tried to represent them , in fact it your post seems to speak for a majority .
I take posts as they come personally and if I have to repeat a view then obviously it’s to a poster that hasn’t read my views or reasons of why their views should be contested .

Of course not. Because he's clearly just a reasonable bloke. I'm not asking if you agree with his political choice. Many of us don't. But he's allowed it. We'd maybe like to talk to him, explain why we disagree, or not bother and have a beer. Because it's got absolutely nothing to do with your political persuasion, nothing to do with your beliefs, nothing to do with being at odds with the majority. It's about how you conduct yourself. I dare say Stephen Dawson has his moments like the rest of us, but he's obviously a normal, nice person, whoever he votes for. The OP? He doesn't behave in a way that the majority find reasonable. I'm not condoning threats of violence, if they're real, but if you've treated him like a dick that's absolutely fair enough, because he's acted like one and worse, continually. Nothing to do with the subject matter and everything to do with him. If he doesn't get that, then that's just because he really is a dick. Let's move on, someone none of us would want to spend any time with has gone, that's a good thing.
