I know there's a couple of posts out there already, but they'll disappear tomorrow and we made some progress today so can share who the guests will be up until the the season kicks off. Ethan Pinnock, Tuesday 9th June Ashley Ward, Thursday 11th June Andy Rhodes, Tuesday 16th June Sports Journalists' Season Review, Thursday 18th June Very different take on it as we host a 'Round Table' to look back at the season so far, and look forward to the Championship restart. ANdy Giddings, Doug O'Kane and Leon Wobschall join us to give us the journos view from inside Oakwell.
Brill. Honestly have been a highlight of the lockdown Ben and it's been great to share memories of past seasons with my kids.
Thanks Helen. Need to think about how/if we keep it going and when once we're playing two games a week. We've got more players, coaches, media, etc. lined up, but we don't want to waste them if that makes sense? If you just keep throwing interviews out there then they become like wallpaper. Thursday night looks the best night based on the fixtures and just move to one a week.
He might be different when he's the guest and not the host? Just thankful all three of them agreed to do it to be honest.
I can't agree,I have met Andy and he is very open,he does a lot of research to widen his knowledge. He has worked his way up from making Tea to his current position. You may have got this impression from listening to phone ins, where a lot of the callers are fixed in their views and he has to get them to be more lateral.
It's a tough one going forward. One side would be keeping the standard of guests high but without the same old stories being repeated just by a different person from the same era. The other side is with us playing behind closed doors and likely to go down that if you did an interview same time as one of our games I think I would watch the interview
Not unless he's your brother in law or something? I keep exploring different routes but he's a big time player now. Would only happen if someone actually knew him and could ask him. I'm sure we could get him to do it if asked, even if it was a shortened 30 minute version.
mentioned before - can't we find some old players from the 50's/60's - interesting to hear about their training methods/contracts/pay/physio???/ their thoughts on 'modern' game/their overnight trips to far flung matches/their thoughts on their manager. - what about interviewing some of the BFC Women footballers - there's been a team at Oakwell for a long time.
I've replied to you before as well. Anyone playing regular first team football in 1959 is likely to be over the age of 80 now. Anyone playing in 1969 over 70. There are limitations to what we can deliver.
My impression is based on personal experience where I tried to get Andy to be more lateral. Still, we all have differing opinions, as this board amply, and rightly, demonstrates.
Looking forward to the stream involving Ashley Ward. He was one of my favourite Reds players. It says on the poster that his stream is Tuesday 11th. So that nobody misses it, note it's on Thursday the 11 th June. Keep up the great work Ben.
Late night admin error! I noticed it before we posted it anywhere on Social Media but was too late for the post on here. Thanks for mentioning it.
