SSN have just said it looks more than likely like Daniel Stendel will be leaving Hearts in the coming days. With them deciding not to keep him on
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dan...id/43/datum_zu/2019-12-07/datum_ab/0000-00-00 Negative goal difference, less than 1 win in 5 and a poor PPG amount. We love him for getting us promoted, but for whatever reason Hearts hasn't worked out for him.
So that’s another manager that vast majority of Barnsley fans will think is rubbish. Just like Hecky. Or will they?
If they get demoted either side can end the contract. At the moment he's in the unenviable position of being out of contract due to being expelled to the championship but they are trying for league reconstruction so theyou stay in the SPFL. No pay since March so I'd hope they'd give him some sort of package on leaving.
They have been vote down by the other clubs. So championship football it will be. Hearts now to take the league through the courts to contest their decision. I don’t give much hope for a reversal of the decision.
Hecky is rubbish. Stendel had a 50 per cent win rate in his one job before Barnsley, then took us up, and then failed at Hearts - they were near or at the bottom, and remained there. Hecky took us up, the rug was pulled from under him, and he left. Then he amusingly plummeted Leeds down the league, got sacked, signed his own men at Hibs, left them tenth out of 12, and got sacked. Stendel is not Guardiola, but Hecky is a useless whinger who blames everyone else for whatever goes wrong. If he gets another job, it'll be at the bottom end of League Two. I reckon most League One teams would take Stendel.
I do not understand the assertion that Hecky is rubbish. He certainly wasn't rubbish for us. I wasn't thinking Hecky is rubbish when we won twice at Wembley and got promoted. Nor was I too disappointed when we didn't get relegated the next season. So how did all this happen if it wasn't at least partly down to him? And what do you call success, at a club like Barnsley?
Fair enough. I think he is, and I stand by that, for the reasons I gave in my first post on this thread.
Very harsh that, for what Hecky achieved with us he deserves enormous credit just as much as Stendel. Out of the two I still prefer Hecky and would love to see him back here one day but I doubt that will ever happen.
Of course he deserves credit for 'that' season but he then disappeared up his own arse, turned gobby, turned negative, played the blame game and set the blueprint for what has essentially been his career since. Course I'm bitter he went to Leeds, but I preferred the studious, hardworking head-down gaffer who took the job to the gaffer he morphed into. Opinions.
Have you seen them play DB? I've seen a couple of games (only to see how he is getting on) and what struck me was the alarming lack of quality in the team. He had a mountain to climb to keep them up.
Hecky was **** some people on here are deluded, as much as he is hated LJ did all the work. Apart from dish out a few ‘keep it up lads’ what did Hecky have to do? The team was on a 7-8 game winning streak and picked itself, autopilot had already been set to the championship they just let Hecky put his pilot fancy dress on
He was good when he took over from lee jay on a 9 game winning run, we were already in the jpt final. When conor and sam left he went 451 with Bradshaw up top he then signed alot of midfielders that summer and kept 451. He went to leeds who were 7th on gd had a great chance of the play offs played 451 and won 3 games from Jan to the eos and 1 was against us then ended up bottom half, he then went hibs and played 451. Seemed when he put his stamp on us and preffered formation that's when it failed.
Allan Clarke turned our fortunes around & then left for a basket case Leeds Utd & got them relegated. Poisoned chalices and the right person at the right time, can dictate success or failure. There are so many outside factors at play.
Bit harsh saying he is rubbish, he deserves credit for maintaining the run and delivering promotion. However I am in agreement with the point about blame etc. I can recall listening to an Interview he gave(think it was on radio). In it he revealed he had on 3 occasions threatened/looked to leave as he wasn't getting his own way, this may come to no surprise to some but given that 2 of the occasions was before he was even First team coach it was to me.
