    It's an idiotic question.

Using it to try to prove his own point - even though he's no idea of the answer.

But neither do you so what's your point?

Your trying to say that there aren't many who want to become managers - despite having no evidence of that either.

Standard fair from Deetee as well.

Them black former players. No aptitude for managing and just rotting away in the sun.

At least there wasn't a mention of Illiterate Delroys this time.

I would have thought that players around the centre circle, heads bowed, would take a minute silently to mark the passing of so many people in the world since they last played competitive football.

I don't believe there is something inherent to black people which makes them not want to manage

I'd do it but there'd have to be an industrial strength hoist on hand to get me back up again!

Another thread I cannot be bothered to read.

I'm sorry, some people will have made good posts, but the general stuff on this subject is getting tedious & as I'm massively depressed I can't engage. I just see an out of touch politician. Same as it ever was to quote David Byrne. The few times we've had the option to elect someone who really gave a **** we rejected them. I say this as I'm on both knees receiving universal credit at the moment. I would not piss on Raab if he was on fire. He is toxic & not in a Britney Spears way.

I Got this one completely wrong, I thought is was an oblique reference to our sadly departed former manager Norman "bites your legs" Hunter's style of tackling....

Go on then, whats the answer.

Why are the 40% BAME players (most of whom are non UK nationals and are highly likely to leave the uk at the end of contract/retirement) in the top flight alone not going onto coaching and management.

Given they have the same opportunities as their white counter parts to get their badges. Which are required to coach, especially higher up the pyramid. Regardless of who you know...

Aptitude will be one, regardless of ethnicity not everyone is cut out to manage or coach or just dont fancy it. Have you ever coached anyone to professional standards?

As for rotting away in the sun, i suspect quite a fair number of former pros again regardless of ethnicity just want to spend time with the family especially if they can afford not to work again given how many retire and vanish from sight. And where would you prefer to do your rotting away? Outskirts of Bolton where it rains constantly or the Costa Del Sol?

Rather than continuing the narrative of victim hood and blame and give BAME positions out of tokenism rather than ability , we should be asking "why dont you fancy a career in coaching" "Whats putting you off" " what would make you change your mind about coaching"

But why would you assume that the aptitude is less likely to be there in a black player? (Obviously you’ve already let us all know - it’d just be interesting to see you answer this)

And I use black rather than BAME because let’s face it, other ethnicities are really not represented on the pitch either in the UK.

I can think of 3 reasons they’re aren’t many BAME managers, John Barnes, Sol Campbell & Thierry Henry. absolutely world class players, Shocking Managers.
On a serious note, no one on here can say how many BAME players actually want to be managers. At the end of the day, realistically, there’s 92 jobs up for grabs, so in my opinion, it’s hard to get a job anyway no matter what colour your skin. It’s even harder recently for British managers to get a job due to the high number of foreign managers in the last 10yrs or so. I can guarantee though, if say in Europe, 5 of the top 10 managers were BAME, they would end up in the Premier League, without fail.

Education is a way forward but that’s in the future what’s happening now needs addressing today and its gestures like this that brings and keeps it in the forefront otherwise it’s forgotten again .
That’s why it’s happening now and education hopefully cures it in the future .
