The 1st 5 games I think will be about psychology more than skill. Who can get up for games and keep intensity in the right way. Youngs uns are used to doing this, made sense to start a few of em.
I think Millwall might lose some edge at home without their loony fans. QPR fans tightly packed in too so I think they lost a little something.
That’s how it’s been in German football since the restart. The usual home advantage seems to have gone out the window with the absence of the crowd.
Same in Germany. The percentage of home wins is so low since they have come back and if you take out Bayern Munich it's very poor.
It’s quite odd that home advantage as actually a real thing, but it seems to be the case, and that it’s to do with the fans, rather than the pitch.
When it's all finished some psychologist will analyse it. Very interesting this so called home advantage thingy.
It would be interesting to see if the away teams are playing in the same style as they normally would or if they are attacking more.
Our young team definitely get intimidated by large loud opposing teams supporters whether home or away. A full North stand does overshadow oakwell at times. Experienced players do deal with the occasion better, there is a good chance this will work to our benefit.
