Saw something on my phone yesterday about there being a potential Covid outbreak at Pitt Street sorting office.
I have noticed that there has been a massive drop off in the delivery of mail, but I assume that there are postal staff self isolating etc.
been off since last week, but in our d/o certain walks were failing but only by 1 day, it would usually go out with double the next day, and more on annual leave is now kicking in reduces staffing further we've had 3 months of excessive traffic that even with full staffing it would be difficult to cope, and that on some days management budgets won't allow overtime to be paid!
funny that only thinking last night when i walked in and picked up slip off floor from window cleaner and thought ant had any post for a while S61 me so a different sorting office
yes, amount of post lessening - put this down to a lot of things like bank statements - utility bills - telephone bills etc being on-line.
Yes, same here, Barnsley SO have had a package of mine since last Thursday and I haven't got it yet but according to the tracker it will be delivered today. It wasn't.
its the new sorting system im afraid. if you voted for brexit or mention Jeremy Corbyn for no rational reason the postie wont deliver. it was in the news or something.
We've had mail left in our D/O for up to four days, overtime paid some days then some not. Its been worse then Christmas and it's amazing what people have been sending for. Hopefully it'll get back to normal soon but on line shopping is definitely the future by looks of it.
spoke to my postie today and said barnsley was covid affected, us posties usually detest management but hope they're ok, i know 1 as a young nipper too

One of the positives of Corona is no junk mail. Honestly my bin is right outside they postie may as well drop it straight in there!!
