Some of these players are listed as being retained because they will be seen to have value in the transfer market. Some are just not having contracts renewed. I am a bit surprised about Dougall, especially as he did get on the pitch on Saturday, but I would be confident that he can be replaced at the same quality. We've kept the most important ones.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of releasing or retaining individual players, it's a comprehensive list and that amount of detail is appreciated. If the club are able to disclose the contract end date of our squad without feeling it compromises them then that would be appreciated too. Thank you for the detailed article.

Top post. Totally agree. We wanted more clarity, we got it.

Maybe Struber saw what you saw.

With an option in the club's favour to extend a year to 2024 too. Longest contracts at the club

Anderson may well turn out to be a good move - I am sure there is a player in there if he can cut out the silly mistakes. He did have a good game at QPR - helps having an experienced partner as well. I wouldnt be surpeised if next season he starts to impress. Schmidt on the other hand....

I still think there's a player in Anderson as proven on Saturday and in other games. He's had a lot of games where he's played really well, but the one silly lapse of concentration has cost a goal and that's all we remember.

If Struber, and Sollbauer (who was a massive signing for us) can erode those from his game I'll be glad we've got him on a long contract.

There's still hope for Schmidt too. He's not a hopeless case just yet, but he has found the physicality of the Championship difficult. Remember, we did want another striker in the Summer as Moore's replacement. Schmidt was seen as a more longer term purchase.

Top post!" ....and in other games" is true, starting with the season's opener.
Mads is in 11th place in MoM standings &, for me, that's the very least he deserves.
I'm sure his continued development has also been noted in Minority Reports.
As things stand, I'm chuffed we've got him to 2023.
I also agree that Schmidt has potential - 2 top quality finishes, but little game time & in the relegation places of the MoM standings :)

I think the big issue is the possibility L1 & L2 may not be played next season if some sort of solution in terms of funding is not come up with. If we did go down players like Mowatt wouldn't want to sit a season out. Some players may go out on loan for a year, but I think at his age he'd look for a permanent move, probably same for Cauley & Sollbauer TBH. Staying up has never been more crucial than this season. I think if we could stay in the division we'd have a strong chance of keeping most of the team & maybe 2 of the 3 I mentioned above.

What has struck me this season is the firm belief from Dane Murphy, Struber and players that we won't go down. Even at the lowest points they've still banged the drum.

I almost believe them. However, every time they've dragged themselves back they've bottled it. Charlton away, Birmingham at home, Reading away and Cardiff at home were massive disappointments.

I'm hoping we can kick on now after the QPR game, 3 points on Saturday is crucial. Maybe the lack of fans may work in our favour with our young, inexperienced team?

I'm hoping so. I reckon that's why Struber has brought back in Jack Walton, Ben Williams and introduced Romal Palmer.

Yeah hopefully Andersen continues to improve. It really is those mistakes that he needs to cut out

I actually really like Schmidt, not sure why... if we end up in League 1 it might be good for him!

I think Schmidt would take to the Championship with a more solid team around him.
