excluding u20s who would you keep mowatt yes woodrow yes chaplin yes anderson bye ritzmaier bye sollbauer yes jacob b yes pinilos leavin radlinger leavin dougall leavin halme yes diaby who knows jordan williams bye bahre bye green bye thiam leavin i think thomas bye schmidt undecided never plays wilks like him but may off
Thomas will be fine in league 1 I think. And I'd keep Andersen. I doubt Woodrow will stay in all honesty, and probably Mowatt would want to stay playing in the championship.
Whilst I know he was a bit of a house leaving us for Wednesday I think winnall could do a job again for us now he’s been released. Wether there would be any traction from either party for this to happen is probably very doubtful anyhow.
Did you watch our (Barnsley not Liverpool) game today? Or last Saturday? I think Mads has looked assured both times and would be decent in league 1, should we end up there.
It's pointless signing promising young foreign players on 4yr deals then writing them off after 1 season. The plan is to develop and sell. The only players worth owt are the ones who've been given a couple of years at least to develop.
Seem to recall that a couple of years back when we were last in teh Championship a lot of people were keen to see the back of Pinnock, Lindsay and Davies. Give some of these players a year at a lower level and we could see them grow. Think most of our squad will be fine in league 1 if we go down, but would be concerned about the forward line if Woodrow or Chaplin moves on.
mowatt NO woodrow Yes chaplin Yes anderson Yes ritzmaier NO sollbauer Yes jacob brown NO pinilos NO radlinger Yes dougall Yes halme Yes diaby Yes jordan williams No Ben Williams No bahre NO green Yes thiam No thomas Yes schmidt No wilks No Romel Yes Simoes Yes
I seem to remember claims that 'none of our central defenders (Lindsay, Pinnock & Jackson) could head a ball' and that it was 'obvious we were going to be involved in another relegation battle'.
Exactly that. We've got these longer contracts to keep players here for longer or to let us demand bigger fees. No way will Mads be leaving yet.
Gotta stay positive we are still only 4 points from safety. We would all have taken 4 points from the first 2 games.
I would keep all if in League 1 apart from potentially Jordan Green and Paddy Schmidt (if Woodrow, Chaplin and Brown all stay by some strange turn of events). If we went with your suggestions above, the following issues would exist: Anderson: first choice centre back replacement needed (could definitely do a job at league one) Ritzmaier: first choice midfield replacement needed (could potentially do a job at league one. Should be given a chance. If he is as vacant at League one as he has been in Championship then get rid in the January) Diaby: if he is cleared he should be kept. To get rid of Diaby and Anderson prior to a League One campaign, as well as Jordan Williams who can operate in a back three, would be madness: three centre back replacements would be needed (would thrive in League One) Jordan Williams: see above. Can play CB, LB, RB. All three positions would need cover. Presumably Ludewig will go back at the end of his loan so a right back replacement would be needed Bahre: a mystery. Would probably be good again in League One but wouldn't be too disheartened if he left Thomas: should be kept. Would be good in League One. If not, winger needed as replacement Schmidt: no real opinion. Can hit the net. Can also disappear in games. So if we let the above go (minus Diaby and Schmidt), we would need the following as replacements: a first team Centre Back; first team Right Back; another first team Centre Back; a first team midfielder; and a first team winger. And that's besides hoping that Woodrow, Chaplain, Mowatt and Brown all stay. A tall order. If we do go down I would be very excited at the prospect of Simoes, Palmer and Oduor all stepping up as regulars.
But we beat QPR, so we should easily have beat Milwall at home. it’s no good winning the games we don’t expect to if we then throw points away we should have expected.
Millwall are a good side though, physical, set up well defensively, and created chances. They weren't there for the taking today.
where did I say they are mugs? We beat them at theirs, why would we then not hope to beat them at Oakwell?
We were 23rd, they are top half, yet you thought "We should easily have beat Millwall at home". You can't rate them if that was your expectation.
