That’s about our strongest lineup on paper I’d say.

Mowatt at the front of the diamond tends to be where he performs poorest. He needs to be on the left of the diamond. It's the perfect position for him to be up and down the pitch and getting heavily involved - that's why the Ritz signing has never really made sense to me. It never felt like an area where we needed to strengthen.

Definitely Halme at the foot of the diamond for me. Styles for Bahre. I'd probably start J.Williams at LB but be prepared to use Oduor much earlier in the game if we need attacking influence.

I wouldnt start j William's at left back I think odour is better than the William's twins. His ball watching and Anderson ball chasing cost us the goal last night. I'm not convinced by either William's.

Oduor is as suspect, if not more, defensively. But he offers a hell of a lot more going forward. He isn't really a LB and I think Struber knows this which is why he isn't getting a game. J Williams did a lot right defensively last night as well, and I'm still convinced it was Walton's slip that allowed Berry to score - not blaming him by the way.

Long term Oduor will be a central midfielder in my opinion.

I think you’re right about Odour but will it be with us? I fear he may tire of the lack of opportunities and look elsewhere.

Not sure. He's still young, shown glimpses of talent, but he isn't going to leave and walk in to a Championship side and play 40 games a season just yet.

I don't think our bottom of the table season has helped trying to slot him in to the team. Next season would be the big one for him. He'd want it to be a breakout year for sure.

For me watch the goal last night William's ball watching late to react and should have blocked the 1st shot that hit the post.

    I'd go;

Walton; Halme Andersen Solbaur; Ritzmaier Styles Mowatt Bahre Ludewig; Miller Woodrow

Thought Ritzmaier put some good crosses in, and was better at set pieces than Mowatt. Don't understand why Styles isn't starting. Bahre in purely because he seems to be the only right sided midfielder at the club! I've put Miller in, could easily have said Marsh, Simoes or put a question mark there. Woodrow, Chaplin and Brown were woeful last night. Put Woodrow in because he is generally our best striker, but wouldn't be too bothered if he dropped to the bench as well.

    Brown Halme Mowatt Thomas
    Woodrow Chaplin

In the words of Mike Bassett, Barnsley will be playing 4 4 ******* 2.

    Left footers on the left.

    Right footers on the right.

Halme to defend so Mowatt doesn't have to.

I think we should go back to what worked when Struber first took over.

That was Halme at the base of the diamond, Mowatt on the left, Woodrow in the number 10 role & Brown & Chaplin up top.

Halme sitting gave Mowatt freedom to go forward & create chances & it gives us more options at set pieces. Mowatt’s assists in the first half of the season speak for themselves, Woodrow was getting in positions to get shots away & Brown was creating lots of chances with Chaplin scoring plenty.

We didn’t come away from that because it stopped working, we changed because we signed Ritzmaier & Struber started playing him on the left of the diamond.

I think if you put Styles with the 5 I’ve mentioned above that’s a good attack with plenty of creativity. Then if you replace Diaby & J. Williams / Sibbick who were playing back then with who we signed in January, Sollbauer & Ludewig I think you have a better defence to go with the attacking quality.

I thought the home wins over Hull & QPR & the draw at home with West Brom were as good as we’ve played this season & they had Halme, Mowatt, Woodrow, Brown & Chaplin in them positions.

    Walton
    Ludewig Sollbauer Anderson Oduor
    Halme
    Styles Mowatt
    Woodrow
    Brown Chaplin
