They couldn’t play Dougall that much as it’s a little difficult to run about with a broken leg. As for a McGeehan, he was terrible when he first joined as well. But he was recovering from a broken leg. Then last year he got a run in the side, fitted in well with Mowatt and was a good player. Deserved a run of games rather than being bombed out for the manager’s mate.
He's the one player at the club who is perfect for the left wing back role. A winger who as we all know is excellent at defending. Instead Struber plays Ritzmaier there despite Ritzmaier himself saying he definitely prefers to play in central midfield
I've slept on this - and I reckon I was probably a little harsh on Struber. I just wish he was a little more attacking in the must win games we've had recently. After watching the video of Conway in that other thread, the blame lies squarely with the board. Fck them. Apologies to Loko if I was an arsehole last night - it's just that relegation was sealed yesterday and emotions were running high.
Dougall when fit still didn’t get a game. I liked him as a player and most of the time was in any team I was picking, but the reality is three managers in a row didn’t play him. So maybe it’s us that are wrong on this one? If he can’t get in to a team that needs a midfielder to play the base of a diamond then maybe he just wasn’t up to it. McGeehan was being frozen out by Stendel before he left. It then carried on. I think the Championship is a step too far for him personally
Played central midfield a lot for the U23’s though. And that’s the position he came on and played for his Barnsley debut
I only said that he isn’t really a LB and that I think his long term position will be as a central midfielder. It’s really not a hill I’m willing to die on, just explaining why I said it. Halme wasn’t announced a CB and a CM was he? I know which position I think he’s performed best in. This is what happens when you sign players with basically zero first team games. They don’t really have a first team position nailed down.
Doubt you would have said the same if cryne was still here I remember you been very critical of patrick.
Looks as though Daniel could be heading back to Germany for his next managerial appointment. https://the72.co.uk/179463/ex-barnsley-and-hearts-boss-on-radar-of-german-side/
Shut up knob head. I'm speaking about ***** foreign players not appreciating rivalry and club values. I don't suppose you've ever been to a football match. Retard
To be fair there's a chance that the only local derby he's ever seen was our away game against Sheffield Wednesday which featured boyh frimpong and brek shea
Late to this thread but nice to know the OP will take pretty much anything from the owners and still happily part with his cash. Firstly, our defence during Stendel was shocking. Sollbauer -at 29/30- came in, added a bit of experience and things improved. Stendel pleaded for experience and wasn't given it. Hardly to blame for that. He was also given a brief of playing pressing football with a bunch of largely inexperienced under 23s... again that is definitely his fault I think both Stendel and Struber on the whole have made the most of what they have, maybe slightly more dubious of the latter's tactics. I'd like to have seen more of Oduor and less of Ritzmaier. To blame either manager for the club's impending relegation though is a bit like entering a car into a race and just before the start, shooting out all four of the drivers' tyres and then having a crack at the driver. If you want to swallow that whole, that's your prerogative, however not all of us are as gullible. And before anyone starts, I've not seen one person on here believing we should be chucking millions at it, so don't bother with that one.
