Like many similar performances this season, we were mediocre at best and unfortunately come the end of the season we will probably be relegated. It's no use blaming the players, they have tried their best. The blame lies fairly and squarely with our board.
The only uncertain fact at the moment is what punishment is going to be meted out to Wigan, Derby and Wednesday for entering administration and breach of FFP rules.
His, I would think. He's done alright with us, and I'd imagine he'll see himself as being better than League One.
While I agree he has done alright points wise, I'm not sure his style of play would see us promoted from league one, all abit tippy tappy. And picking your favourites every week even though they have been poor wont help either.
The last team we had in league one could over power teams and we had a physical presence all over the pitch but unfortunately at the minute this squad is well short of that.
I think people do leagues 1 and 2 a disservice because there are lots of teams that try to play football. The hairy-fairy referees that pull up every infringement are more common place too. I think we'll be o.k in League 1 and I back the board to sign us another Woodrow, Dougall and Bahre. We might not need them though. I'm not so sure our main players will have that many suitors at the minute.
I think our fitNess levels are good. I certainly think we could be in the top 6 as long as we don't lose or fail to adequately replace Woodrow, Mowatt, Brown and Chaplin. I think if Luton go down they would be expected to finish above us.
The good thing about that team two seasons ago was that we could mix it up during games we could play decent football but also go long with Keiffer up front we had more options than we have now.
Surely a plus point is they've all been together for a season and if Struber remains in charge then that gives us some continuity and consistency.
I'd like Struber to carry on, but I'm not sure he will & what the board chose to do is anyone's guess TBH. He's tightened us up defensively. Maybe at times he should change to shape more against teams that are happy to sit back & defend. In the end some of our key players have not produced enough when called upon to give us the goal that could make one point 3.
i agree about L1&2 but I’m thinking there could be a fair few Championship players released into L1 so it may be tougher than its been down there.
Whatever League we are in and whoever is our Head Coach, I sincerely hope we abandon the suicidal tactic of trying to play it out from the back. We have nearly gifted one or two goals to our opponents this season and it's only a question of time before it costs us.
