I heard Cryne could have himself stepped in sooner but waited for his opportunity.

Nope. Nor will I until we begin to have a retention strategy as well as a recruitment strategy.

Fair play, am a believer of supporting the club no matter what but if you’ve got your beliefs then that’s your call.

Just out of interest if we stopped up or had a blinder In league 1 would you come back?

Likewise, I respect anyone in the 'come what may' camp. As you say, everyone's choice.

I discount staying up given the two away fixtures. As regards a blinder in League One - well we did that last season and then compromised our chances of competing in the Championship before this season started. I can't see where that will change, so no - it wouldn't tempt me back.

So in other words then only way you’ll return is if they sell up (new owners could be a total shower of *****) or they plough money in?

I’m not spoiling for an argument btw, just interested in what will draw people back who aren’t going to renew

Doubt if I'd be taken in by any new owners again at my age, JC. This lot supposedly had the financial clout to be different. I'm not advocating anyone ploughing money in, just using the club's strong financial position to generate enough capital to become stable in the Championship. That, after all is what they stated as their aim. Instead they've presided over two relegations in two and a half years, and the club culture of sell, sell, sell continues.

For me, it's simple. Try to win football matches as the first priority.

I've been going 52 years, having a season ticket for the last 51. However, this is my last campaign. I'm not going to get involved in any tit for tat personal abuse with someone who has a different viewpoint to me. It never happened before when the boot was on the other foot, so I'm not going to start now. My attitude has always been not be so arrogant to assume I know better than anyone else how best to spend their spare time and disposable income.
It's sad that it's come to this, but I'm very comfortable with my decision. I'm under no illusions, the club doesn't need me, won't notice or care about my absence and will comfortably get by without me.
My monies that once went to Barnsley Football Club will now be directed to my grandchildren.

The end of an era for me. I'll especially miss seeing my old friend Vince, as well as BBSers like barnsley66, nezbfc & his family, jedione and Jay and his family.
However, they may well be glad to no longer hear my ramblings!:D

I agree, except that I've no grandchildren. However, I don't rule out a return if there's a change in strategy and/or ownership.

I can't commit to that, as once I've got out of the habit of going to the match it may be difficult to get back into it.

I had a gap of not going due to kids. Tried to get to a few matches a season to keep in touch as it were. Now having started with a season ticket again I'm back into the habit and it doesn't really feel I've been away!

So if I fly over for a game, once I'm allowed, there's no chance of bumping into you at the Old No. 7 before a game?

I've just read that Qantas have cancelled all international flights, including to NZ, until July 2021. There goes my annual Christmas trip, although 14 days in quarantine wouldn't help either.

Sadly not, old mate, no. It's highly unlikely we'll meet up in New Zealand, either.:D
