They probably can, if the will & determination's there. Again, pure conjecture and there's nothing wrong with that.
Yep as with most major developments and factored in by developers. Not saying it will happen but it is a worrying possibility and would explain the so far unexplained reason the board purchased BFC.
I thought the council owned 50% of the ground and land and the crynes owned the other 50%. I'm not sure of the ins and outs the lad I know said to me looks like the owners have bought some land I said oakwell and the land he said looks that way.
Maybe so but we’re talking land developers here and the council imo wouldn’t give it up for them to sell straight away to land developers and even if they did they’d be no permission forthcoming from council anyway . It’s one thing the govt relaxing building laws and another to allow on spirting venues theta be an outcry right across the country . Even Burys expecting a return .
Council own 50% but are strapped for cash as a result of Covid and won't take much convincing to sell to cover shortfall in funding. I thought the Crynes 50% was part of the deal when the new lot took over
Not sure this is true about being strapped for cash? I was understanding Govt have been financing everything Councils have paid out that are Covid related.
I can’t see why there would be an announcement next week about anything until we’re sure we’re down, as if we’re not we have £6m more than we expect to have. And if you’re the one making the decision and then the announcement, it’s not devastating, it’s necessary, or unfortunate (but carefully thought through because you decided on it). And if you’re not the one making the decision how do you know about it? Unless it’s Diaby, that could be described as devastating.
Could it be that the West Stand Bogs are going to be demolished and replaced with a more modern gents
If you believe Johnson they are if you believe council leaders of all parties up and down the country they are nowhere near covering the outgoings and income loss caused by Covid and on top of all that Barnsley Council suffered the worst cuts to funding of all councils in the last 10 years plus they've an empty shopping centre to pay for with little hope of filling it with renters at the moment. I'd say they'd sell their 50% in a heart beat at the moment.
I meant it would be devastating for him, if he’s banned for any length of time, given that careers are short
