    Looks a very obvious possibility?

Does it? He's Austrian. That'd be like saying someone Irish was nailed on for a job at a club famous for hiring Englishmen.

I do not get the connection of Struber & Huddersfield, the Cowleys were their last appointment which suggests they were looking at up & coming English coaches but the fact that they are still receiving parachute payments might allow them to set their sights higher , for example Nigel Pearson

Terriers fan in workshop here says they’ve done a deal with Leeds for their U23 coach who also works with the first team. Says he has it ‘on good authority’ whatever that means. Struber would be no loss for me whatever happens, can’t see them going for him to be honest he’s not exactly set the league on fire has he.

Corberon? On face value a little underwhelming given their aspirations etc, that said apparently he is very well thought of by some head esteemed coaches(although we all know how that can end).

Corberono is unusual in that he decided to coach at a young ageven rather than continue trying to have a playing career, He did well with the U23s in our promotion season but seems like a gamble despite Bielsa s glowing recommendations. From his pov assistant coach of a prem team for a year might look better on his CV, I don't know?

    Given the evidence that
    (1) with a game to play we're still in with a shout of staying up, having looked dead and buried for most of the season
    (2) we appear to have stopped (in the main) conceding heavily
    (3) since his arrival we've accumulated enough points that if this was extrapolated over the whole season we'd be comfortably mid-table

What does he need to do to convince you that he's the man to take us forward?

And battering the Champions for 45 minutes on Thursday night.

The biggest one for me is that he's the man who's convinced the board to break the recruitment model with Sollbauer and Ritz (granted the latter has been more miss than hit, better yesterday though overall).

That kind of influence could be invaluable to us. Any Head Coach sway in the boardroom will surely only improve our chances of being successful.

Apparently since Hoyle sold his majority share it's not been a happy ship and according to my pal at work 'it's time Huddersfield fans got real' and thats coming from a life long terrier ! He reckons establishing themselves as a top tier championship club is the aim rather than shooting for the stars and a lot of the fanbase who jumped on the bandwagon will soon disappear when they realise that the premier league was a one off. He's a pretty grounded bloke who never got carried away when they were in the prem, his mantra was 'ill enjoy it while it lasts'

All fair points but the table doesn't lie and for me we haven't progressed, I'm also unsure about his formations/selections e.g playing Brown as a striker when for me he is an exciting winger in a 4-4-2 formation and playing Woodrow who is a striker in a midfield. If Forest had needed a win yesterday instead of coming and playing for a draw they looked far more capable of taking 3 points than we did. Both Woodrow and Chaplin look to need someone to play off who isn't there and they don't seem to play well together.

Thats not to take away the amount of effort our lads put in yesterday but for all our efforts we couldn't hit a barn door and managed to scramble a goal, I do wonder if/how/when we ever practise the basics - corners, free kicks and shooting. All three seem to be beyond us.

Our set pieces were much, much better yesterday. Still not great, but you can tell they'd worked on the training pitch to try and bring some variation to them at least and there was more hope when we won something. Similar to the QPR game.

Half the battle with our set pieces is that you probably only come around someone as exquisite as Conor Hourihane once a decade, and we're not blessed with height. You need every delivery to be like the Lundwig cross against Blackburn or the Styles corner against Leeds - and that isn't going to happen.

Longer balls to the far post with Woodrow on the keeper to distract him would be a start instead of floating corners in hopefully against a big defence and getting nowt. I’m no head coach but when it comes to set pieces I never expect us to get anything. I’m not particularly anti Struber I just don’t think we’ve pulled any trees up since he’s been here so would shrug my shoulders and hope for someone better if he left.

You ve got a point. Do you think that is down to him as a persuasive person or just that the board could admit they got it wrong because they had the get out of backing the manager?

I've already stated I want continuity, I'd rather we played attacking football as a team which we aim to do under Struber (Cowleys and their ilk can be painful to watch despite getting results)

If we have a comfortable year in the championship next season I think he will have a few offers. Jumping ship to Huddersfield with a chairman who wants things his way or no way and who wants a coach to get the best of some of their morngy older expensive players might not be a smart career choice.

I’ll say from the off, I’d like Struber to stay.
However, I’d like him a whole lot more if he didn’t insist on playing players in formations that don’t suit them (Brown looked a different player when put out wide, Woodrow being messed about positionally).
I’d also like him alot more if he stopped persisting with Ritzmaier who on evidence of the last 6 games has contributed zilch, when players like Halme, Wolfe, Thomas all look far more effective. Couldn’t believe he took Thomas off before Ritz yesterday. That kind of favouritism costs games.

Struber has done alot of good things, but he could really damage results and team spirit if he persists with the apparent favouritism.
