He signed a new deal at the beginning of this season.

I'd expect us to let him go if we can get a fee for him - year on his deal, decent wages he's on.

If we get a new manager they might to take a look at him. It might be a good idea to keep him around, as an experienced and proven top-end League 1 player.

If anybody offered any sort of fee for him, Conway would drive him to his new club himself, provided McGeehan gave him some petrol money.

I've got no issues with paying him that - I think he's a decent player, and would have done well next to Mowatt this season.

The eyebrow raise was in that if McGeehan is on 6k a week (allegedly) then I'd love to know what the rest of the squad is on - and how our wage bill is broken down given the astronomical amount of players we have.

Football Manager has us on about £7m. I know it's a game, but it's thoroughly researched with people ITK in every club. So accurate for data/footballer attributes that clubs actually pay to use it for scouting.

The overall wage bill was £10.6m last time the club was in the Championship, turnover was £14m. Wages were 75% of turnover so a cap at 75% would not impact Barnsley as that’s how the club operated. Slightly different in league one with wages greater than 100% of turnover.

I really don’t think I said the wage bill was £2.25m although I have been drinking quite a bit lately.

I’ve always wanted to be a number cruncher.

Surely that penalty miss knocked his potential wages down to about ten bob a week.

Also why was I wrong when I said a salary cap wouldn't work to our advantage in League 1? You disagreed with that point n' ushered in figures if memory serves me correctly? I have been drinking though. Perhaps I should have more water.

I thought I said it would work to our advantage, you said it would mean we couldn’t sign players like Mowatt and Woodrow.

Anyway, who cares I’m having a right god drink, not. Even working from home tomorrow and happy as a proverbial pig in ****
