    just you see.

If they do I would hope that our owners would take it to extremely high courts..... but not holding my breathe there with those buggers.... I am still believing we will end up in L1 next season..... after all look what happened when they chose Arsenal all those years ago. Also our premiere season..... Gary Willard etc. I have no faith in the governing body of football in the UK...Nay the world. McGeehan will also get a 3 match ban too. But we should give our players total respect and kudos.... they have done us proud...TOTALLY.

They won't because it's cut and dried.

Go into administration, get a points deduction.
They went into adminstration, they got a points deduction.

It's like launching an appeal that conceding more goals than your opponent shouldn't mean you get 0 points

They won't. Imagine what a can of worms it would open up. At least 20 clubs would then put themselves in admin the next day.

I think the same think the EFL will reduce it to 10 on appeal keeping Wigan up on goal difference

I’m 99% sure their appeal will be successful in reducing it to 9points or less putting us down, but how are we meant to plan for next season not knowing what division we will be in? They really need to rethink how they can apply the penalties fairly

I don't see how they can either overturn or reduce. All they are doing is enforcing their own rules.

    They won't.

The only way they can is if Wigan haven't actually entered administration. They have.

The appeal is just a roll of the dice.

The rules are 12 points for entering administration. Not 9. Not 10. Not 0.

People are focusing too much on this nothing appeal.

There will be no successful appeal.

Everyone and their dog can see their spending habits in the summer. Blaming it on Corona is all rubbish. They’re down.

The EFL is there to regulate and enforce the rules. Not one single rule is set without the clubs voting on it becoming so.
A successful appeal basically means clubs can then ignore all rules and run riot.

If the 12 point deduction is not implemented then the EFL might as well say it’s ok to cheat.

It really is black and white, and the fact that the 12 point deduction has been imposed straight away shows how confident the efl are that will stand. In France, administration means automatically dropping 2 leagues. Everyone has a right to appeal, but administration is administration, theres no way it can be overturned

On what grounds could they possibly win an appeal? Because the EFL's own 'fit and proper ownership test' allowed a gambling scam to take the club over (allegedly)?. The world is very unpredictable currently, but if this is overturned then it's definitely time we all packed it in.

On what grounds would they reduce their own, clearly stated penalty, by 2 points and invite the inevitable legal challenge from all the other clubs that have accepted the sanction (and us)? Perhaps they might think that a further legal challenge from Wigan might be preferable to inviting one from several clubs?. If we are not in the Championship next season then it's time to knock the whole thing on the head.
