    Watching his post match interview the guy has my utmost respect. For him to be so magnanimous towards Barnsley in defeat shows what a class man he is

    Feel for the Wigan fans I really do but we have not looked like a relegation threatened team since lockdown finished and couldn’t be more proud of the players and manager.

    could he have just scuppered their chances of a successful appeal on national television?

    Not, that's actually their defence. I (and most people) assumed their defence was that they couldn't expect covid-19 and so they're using force majeure as a defence but it seems that their defence of force majeure is that the club couldn't foresee that their owner would randomly put them in administration. It's bizarre but it appears they're launching an appeal against themselves.

    Don’t owe anyone a penny? Really?

    Well they still owe us for Moore, and Gerald Krasner confirmed on tv only today they have football debts alone of £6million to be paid in full on top of other third party debt, so as much as I respect Paul Cook generally, he’s chatting **** about there being no debt.

    Just seen his interview on Quest and fair play to him. Clearly upset over the Wigan situation but had the respect and professionalism to acknowledge what we have achieved.

    I think there's also a bit of doubt about the chairman's motives regarding a potential far-east betting scam that Wigan would go down.
    The lawyers are working on the fact that you can't relegate a club based on the dubious behaviour of the owner who (allegedly) put them into admin on purpose to satisfy a betting syndicate.
    Sounds a bit of a weak defence to me,
