Then saying there should be something in place to stop clubs overspending. There is and it’s called FFP. Silly bleeders
The bit about Kieffer Moore made me sick. Saying it’s sad they might lose him. We lost him to their promise of paying him three times his wages that they couldn’t afford to pay ffs
Owt for ratings or to sell a story. If the Wigan deduction is overturned they'll have new headlines bleating about how unfair it was to us etc.
We had also agreed terms with Morsy until Wigan gave him a raise. At the time we took him on loan, they needed to get him off the wage bill. So, this is not new thing for them.
Yes, from what I understand they lose between 8 and 10 million a year and the old owner used to fund the losses himself to keep them running. The new owners came in and decided not to fund the losses anymore and put into admin. It all happened very fast and seems harsh on the club and fans as surely the new owner knew the financial state before taking over so to whack them into admin within a month of taking ownership is madness. But the facts are there that they have been overspending for a little while.
The deal for Morsy was done they couldn’t renege on it unless We feked uo st this end which I think is what happened . We tried to negotiate a lower fee which enabled Wigan to withdraw and keep him . Not sure if it’s true but I think that’s why Cryne sacked Lynton .
Because the owners have declared so. They aren't charged with any FFP breaches are they? Who are the creditors who haven't been paid or won't? I believe that all creditors won't get the full entitlement, but there is a belief on the Wigan side (of course) they could have run the club and paid its bills if the owners hadn't taken them to admin. The reasoning being that the conspiracy is that the owner sold the club to himself under a new name so they could put it into admin and cash in on a big bet in Asia on relegation. I haven't seen evidence and seems far fetched but i also dont have insight into the evidence of what they spent and what their balance sheet looked like either.
To be clear the new owners are the old owners. The transaction which took place in May enabled the repayment of debt to the majority owner. The previous owner wanted out and used the transaction as a way of restructuring his exposure. The new owner was a front for the existing owners.
Crickey its a tangled web, I’ve really no idea why these people buy football clubs in the first place.
OK thanks. Was the losses actual losses underwritten or are these outstanding creditors? Im trying to understand the wigan thing better. I got a lot of stick on twitter last night where a flood of fans stated confidently they didn't have any creditors that weren't getting paid.I dont know but they believe they have been scammed by their owners. However they also (and it seems quest and sky) believe the 'club' and it's 'ownership' are two different things !!
