just looking at lg 1 for next season, some good teams down their, with imo, no standout 1 or 2 teams you could say would be certain to be at the top, Peterborough, Sunderland, Donny, Pompey, Ipswich, Hull, Charlton, Wigan. I reckon our team, now they have had a year to gell ( with a couple of additions) will be much more suited to the championship next year. As daft as it sounds I have loads of confidence in us having a good season next year but I think we wouldn't be nailed on for promotion out of LG1, purely because we are more suited to playing football rather than the physical hoof ball that some , not all play in Lg1 ( I know I don't have to worry about lg1) lets hope the Wigan appeal gets thrown out and we can become a good championship side.
I agree - I think the chances of us getting promotion from L1 are much less than the chances of us surviving in the Championship. We should be aiming for top half next season
In a realistic sense I totally agree. By rights though every club should be aiming for the title. A famous manager once said aim for the sky and you'll reach the ceiling, aim for the stars instead. I think thats how it went lol
Haha I said famous not infamous lol it was Shanks. "Aim for the sky and you'll reach the ceiling. Aim for the ceiling and you'll stay on the floor." Good old Google
Tbh I hadn't realised quite how much I wanted to stay in the championship until the final whistle blew last night Next season is not the time to be in a league uncertain of whether it will even start.
It's the Fa cup round 1 buisness and the Paint trophy thing I was never fond of! Yes I know we won it but early rounds were hardly the stuff of dreams! Be interesting to see what happens with that if season starts later. Quite like the midweek games on the red button as well in the championship.
Its a tough one next year for sure, some good sides in L1 next season so could be a tricky one to get out of if the worst was to happen and we got sent down. No doubt the level in the championship is far higher, but with the 3 teams coming up this season and the possible points deductions for fowls and Rooney FC we could have an amazing chance of staying up again next season.
It was vital we stayed in the Championship otherwise it would've been another major transition period.
