Boinged with Baggies a few years ago - went as a neutral with a mate. Got a soft spot for them- great team to watch growing up as well with likes of Cunningham and Regis ...

Didn't their captain have the chance to bring Tufnell down before he scored the goal but his conscience would not let him commit a deliberate foul?

I remember the season we went up to the prem where we played them late on in the season at home for a night match. They were midtable and, as it was likely to be us or wolves that went up automatically were quite happy for us to beat them. I remember chants of "you're going up, you're going up" etc. I think they might have got a conga line going at 2-0 down.

    I've liked them ever since.

Yes. Jesse Pennington - England international.

Interestingly, he was approached to fix a West Brom game as part of a betting scam. He alerted the police and pretended to go along with the scam so the villains could be caught, which they were. All round good egg by the sound of it.

That's right their captain full back Jess Pennington, a sportsman in the true sense, was an England International like the other fullback Cook. My dad went to Agnes Road school with Harry Tufnell's son and my Dad was always going on about BFC in the 1920s & 30s. Of course he always maintained the football was better then. Just like I tell my son it was better in the 1960's & 70's than it is now.

Always liked West Brom fans. In general they seem to be a very knowledgeable and friendly bunch whenever we play them, unlike their neighbours from St Andrews.

Their supporters club had a good relationship with our supporters club back in the day.

In normal circumstances it would be a nice jolly for a pre season friendly.

Lad I know is a big Baggie's fan- he's a sports journalist who has written a few books about them.

He was main reporter at Wolves for a while - as you can imagine he loved that!!:)

He went from there to Villa - he hated Martin O'Neil with a passion - most arrogant man he's met in football

They didn’t like it when we stuffed them 2-0 at theirs in the 2000 playoff season & chanted boing boing bag o’ ***** for a solid 20 minutes. Lovely Barnard free kick, looked great from behind the goal..:)
