I always find it interesting when people see things differently. I thought Thomas was the one who screwed it up. He either had to commit a defender towards him to release one of the others into space or shoot himself. He basically did neither and just played a pass too soon and too slowly to Brown (rather than across the front of him) meaning the defender could get across and making him take an extra touch.

I agree Brown has things to learn but he’s developed so much and his all round game on Wednesday night was fantastic in my eyes.

As I say though, we all see things differently.

His contract has just expired. He'll have no problem finding a club. You make it sound like he's been without a club for 6 months.

As we were all watching at home and imho thomas fault was choosing the wrong option. The pace on the pass was good his decision wasnt ...we all recognise that Browney is a poor finisher, i believe it was Chaplin available on the left was the better option.
I think brown is better when he doesnt have a lot of time to think and can use his pace. He is still learning and again probably needs better players around him to bring him on more...i would definately work on his finishing and shooting though.

Regardless of what they might want for him the markets changed dramatically now. He won’t get anywhere close to the money he might have been valued at before.

I love Mowatt one of our most consistent players but honestly if he doesn’t sign a new deal with us I can’t see any massively bigger clubs coming for him, I think it’s in his interests to stay on. Could stand corrected though

I'd no problem with Brown shooting it was how he went about it. If he'd dragged it back instead of mindlessly hitting a ball that was shore to be blocked he'd have probably scored.

You’re right and again Darragh has said that. The point I was making was he had a plan and that plan was how to maximise revenue and future for both club and player. And the player to his credit was willing to run with that plan.
He of course like the rest of us could have known in Jan what was going to happen

Wasn't my intention, just stating facts. I'm not sure he did that well at Hull did he?

@Nardiello dunno mate, haven't really seen him play that much :)

Anything's possible. But us staying up has probably changed the landscape substantially.

To be honest I'm not sure how well he did at Hull.

A club like Wycombe, Rotherham, Luton, Coventry, Us or one of the relegated clubs from the Champ will definitely go in for him though, if not a club higher up.

Not well at all by the looks of it:

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/the72....ter-at-marcus-maddison-release-by-tigers/amp/

He doesn't appear to be liked much. I get the impression he has gotten too big for his boots and we might do well to steer well clear. Will be happy to be proved wrong of course!

But that is not a blanket rule for every player. If a player wants to leave, that has a couple of years on their contract and the coach wants him to stay, the coach should be given the chance to convince that player to give us another year. If they're still adamant on leaving and the coach thinks that the player's head wont be in the right place, then fair enough.

Strikers have bigger ego's. They want the most money, the want to play every week, they want to score all the goals. When they want more money somewhere else they sulk. When they sulk they don't put the effort in. When they don't strike a bat you should sell regardless of how long they have on their contracts. You can negotiate but I can't see what difference that makes.
