Thank you so much for giving us a preview of a wonderful piece of work Whitey! (pity there was no music!!!) The last seven minutes made me cry. You captured the emotion beautifully. It's a real privilege to be able to see the boys up close and personal. All credit to you. It takes a certain (nearly used the word special) personality to be able to endear him/her self to a group of young professionals and not be accused of being ingratiating. And you do that buddy. Apparently exceptionally well. You're able to undertake the job you do successfully because of your relationship with the players.......and we, as fans, get to see the output - whether we've lost, or drawn, or won. I've had belief in this young group of footballers ever since GS took over. He has organised them into a unit with clarity and direction. They know their jobs, whether playing in their preferred position or not. We've been very poor on occasions but we can't win every game. I've been preaching patience and perspective all season and these lads have shown just what can be achieved if you have belief and positivity; which has, in my opinion, been persistently ground into them by our manager and his staff. They deserve enormous credit. It is a cliche but it's like they have, quite literally, taken the cliche "in adversity we find strength" into their very core. From what you've said the whole team (office, cleaners etc...everyone) at the club have done the same. This, in stark contrast to some of the stuff and destructive criticism we see on here sometimes. The reason I mention all that stuff in this post is that you've managed to capture that (the togetherness, the unity, the belief and the emotion for our club) in what you've created........particularly in the last 7 minutes of the footage you've just shared. On that note, I particularly applaud you for not falling arse over tit when you were synchronising your high pitched howling and sprinting across the slippery Griffin Park turf to get the money shot. The fact that you got to the pile on is a miracle. The fact that you didn't jump on the pile on is a remarkable show of restraint. I've been wanting to post my comments about these players for a few days now but didn't want to create a new thread saying how wonderful they are because the site is loaded with them already. Your footage has given me the opportunity to embrace how I feel with the emotion they displayed and to pass comment on it. Football is about many things as we all know, but the one thing it does, like nothing else on this planet, is to give us feelings like we all experienced the other night. Your creativity, my friend, is the perfect illustration of that. Thank you. Well done lad. Well done. COYR!!
Well said that man. He was seriously slagged off on here but to see him with the boys in the footage is testimony to his character and energy for the group.
Those words in itself is a work of art. You capture a hell of a lot that we dont see. And share with us something that we wouldnt otherwise appreciate or see. It's one of the best things this club does, and you and the team your with (I have to say team, you make it clear that you dont want all the plaudits yourself, as others are involved) make it so special. You should be proud, not only as a fan, but as a passionate employee, cos not many employees will go the lengths you all do. I bet I speak on behalf of everyone that what you produce must be one of, if not, the best output in the country. Long may it continue
That's what we're trying to achieve, that connection with the players. It's tougher in the bleak moments, but in all fairness, we've had all-access under both Daniel and Gerhard. I don't think there's another club that goes side by side with the squad like we do, other than perhaps Leeds. And they've 50 times the staffing levels and budgets. It's not just me buddy. It's been four of us this season, which halfway through became three sadly. It's a team effort. I do appreciate the kind words though. As we approached full time, I made my way pitchside and was going to walk around behind the goal. I just wanted to be at that other side to get the moment, should it occur, on camera. But I checked the time and knew he was going to blow shortly so I began filming and thought fúck it, I'll just leg it across as quick as I can. And, the plan was not to use the start of that video. I was going to use it from the point that I reached the players. But after discussing it, we felt it was better from the start as it highlights what it means to everyone involved. I wasn't meant to shout 'get in' or start giggling like a young girl. I had no control over my emotions sadly. I hope it's helped fans feel that connection, because this period without crowds has been strange to work in.
That is truly exceptional and a fitting tribute to and memory of a momentous achievement. The sound of the players and staff and the surroundings create their own fantastic backdrop and, particularly in this case, demonstrate how genuine and dedicated a bunch of guys are involved representing our club. Have to admit it brought a tear to my eye at both ends of the soppy to unadulterated joy ends of the spectrum. Kudos to all involved for a fantastic production.
Best recap yet. Loved every minute. I'm a naysayer n' happy to take it all back. It's amazing how watching it two days on still has me in floods of tears. I've never felt this passionate towards a team as I do now. It was hard taking the knocks n' thinking we deserved better. It came together the other night. I'm immensely proud of the players n' backroom staff and everyone connected to our great club. Thank you.
No time off. Except a few days during the international breaks I suppose. Our summer holiday in June was canned obviously. And whilst many people over the country were furloughed, I worked throughout. So it's going to have been two full seasons back-to-back before I get a proper break, next summer fingers crossed. And yeah, the missus works for the NHS and did extra hours throughout the crisis. She's been rewarded with a pay ri.... oh no, no wait, no she hasn't. She hasn't been rewarded with anything. She got clapped on a Thursday. Which is better than 'the' clap on any day I suppose.
It's a great video, my only criticism is that the swear beeps are far too loud. Maybe try muting the video, rather than the beep, in the future?
Yeah, I get that. It's a good shout. It sounded bang on in the editing suite but I always forget that it's louder after encoding. Bit of a schoolboy error on my part. But hopefully we won't come across the issue for a while. It's rare they swear. I understand why they were the other night, but in general, it's a rarity.
Probably sounds louder for me, as I wear headphones when using the computer for confidentiality reasons for work, so everything always sounds louder, especially unexpected or sudden noises
I'll let em' off with a few swear words due to the magnitude of the occasion. It's hard after the season they've had not to let loose after pulling it out of the bag like they did.
Wonderful video, made possible by a wonderful story on the night. Particularly liked Patrik Schmidt screaming WARRIORS!!!! - kinda summed it up. COYR.
Loved this, the smoke effects made my eyes run a bit but it captures everything i love about BFC. Thanks Whitey for all you do. COYR
