    Line-up v Fulham first game:

Radlinger; Sibbick, Diaby, Andersen, Cavaré; McGeehan, Mowatt; Thomas, Bähre, Wilks; Woodrow

    Line v Brentford last game

Walton (GK), J Williams, Andersen, Brown, Chaplin, Ludewig, Thomas, Ritzmaier, Sollbauer, Styles, Mowatt (c).

Only 3 players started the first and the last games of the season. Anderson Thomas and Mowatt.

Did we start the season with a stronger team than we finished with, both teams won just went a bit haywire in the middle?

It was a bunch of players at the start.
It was a team that finished.
But out of those that finished I can only see these players playing a part next season:
    Walton (GK)
    Andersen
    Sollbauer
    Ludewig
    Thomas
    Styles
    Chaplin

Plus - Sibbick and Diaby from the starting lineup may still be around.
I think given time there are good footballers to be unearthed in both of these players.

And - not forgetting Green - who IMO would have made a brilliant full back.
Only small but lightning speed and strong.

Definitely stronger at the end. That defence looks terrifyingly bad. Walton, Sollbauer and Ludewig have shored things up.

I don't rate Ritzmaier much but I'd take Styles over McGeehan or Bähre any day of the week, so midfield marginally improved. Wilks a passenger in too many games so two up top instead of 5 in midfield is an improvement.

Ludewig? He's only on loan, unless you know something I don't.

Still think cavare and Wilks would have been good options to have in the system struber played.

Buy him if possible...3 - 5 - 2 next season as most of the Championship (Wot we are in)
seem to crowd midfield...Halme back as one of the back 3......just a thought

    Plus Oduor, Shmidt, Diaby, Halme,,
Our young squad just needed to survive this year, they would naturally improve and gain experience. 3 additions needed 2 strikers and 1 midfielder. Brown to move to a wing back / midfield role and try to sign Ludwig and keep Solbaure.

    Team

    Walton
    Diaby Solbaure Anderson
    Brown Styles Halme Mowatt Odour
    Big Striker and Chaplin

    Collins
    Sibbick
    Ludwig
    J Williams
    B Williams
    Palmer
    Wolfe
    Thomas
    Simeos
    New Striker
    New Midfielder
    Shmidt

Woodrow and Mcgeehan to bring some money in to cover part of new incoming transfer costs , Miller, Vic, Green move on

Three new players can be older because we still have a big number of young players in the squad and team.

Don’t forget who our captain was on the opening day either - something I thought at the time to be genuinely left field and bizarre.

Any real ambition would see a genuine holding midfielder in place of Halme.

That's definitely the midfield position we should recruit for as well as 2 up top. Plus not a young upcoming defensive midfielder we can afford a bit more experience this season.
