Wonder what assistance we could possibly give, seeing as them having 12 points deducted is fek all to do with us. We just happen to be the club that finished 3rd bottom
they of got the arse on now because we "may" have an input in the hearing seeing it only can affect them and us, why shouldn't we have one?
Deary me... I've just read some of that bloke's tweets. If he was any further up his own arse he'd be looking out through his tonsils. I should probably stop reading stuff like that. It does nothing for my mood and just creates hostile vibes towards a club that has enough problems without goats hating it.
Murphy seemed to contradict himself on the radio Sheff interview. Started by saying that we are definitely a Championship club, finished outside relegation zone etc... But then went on to say how directly affected we are by the Wigan appeal.
To be honest, I find it concerning that they’ve asked for our input, it suggests they’re looking at a possible’flaw’ in the original decision. Otherwise it’d just be a ‘ cut and dried case’ and there should be no need for our or any other EFL club’s input. Hope my concern is unfounded but I do find it strange.
Honestly dont see how Wigan's appeal has a leg to stand on it just seems like they are clutching at straws with covid etc forgetting they have been overspending years...
i was originally sad for the wigan fans, but **** em nar, they want us to go bust through their owners cheating, it's ****** and hope they do a bolton nar
IF they did win the appeal( personally can’t see how) they do know we will slap in an appeal straight away? Could be longer running drama than Downton!
We aren't allowed to. I don't think. Wigan have had their points deduction and the outcome of the appeal is final. I believe that if we appealed the appeal - via a different legal channel, an actual court (or CAS) rather than a commission or whatever - we'd risk being kicked out of the Football League. I *think* I read that somewhere.
A lot of Twitter traffic saying Paul Cook has stepped down and is likely to be announced as the new Bristol City manager. A good move for him and Bristol City if true, in my opinion.
Maybe it’s because of all the fuss we’ve been making recently? I can’t imagine they’ll be asking Barnsley FC what they think the outcome should be.
Barristers never say anything is a strong case in my experience although @BarTyke may beg to differ with me or I should say, if they do, it means it’s completely nailed on - an open goal of a case!
One thing Wigan fans are missing in all of this is our POV isn’t a direct attack on them as a club it’s against the EFL not following its own rules. Conway told The Athletic: “People seem to think little old Barnsley will follow the rules and not make a fuss. “If we’ve been wronged as a result of the league not following its own rules, then it stands to reason that we’d go against the league and its TV money and ask them to pay us the difference in revenue. "We think that’s fair and we hope it will benefit other clubs who follow the rules and try to develop young talent. “I’m an American and in American sports, we self-regulate — if someone breaks the rules, they are cheating the rest of us and we take action. “We went through this two years ago, when we were five minutes from staying up on the last day only for Bolton to win and go above us. Everyone knew they were cheating the system and were hundreds of millions in debt. “We decided not to do anything about it then but our attitude has changed. Relegation to League One cost us about £7 million in revenue. "If something like that happens again, we’ll make a claim and we think we’ll have a strong case. We’re not asking for a change in the rules. We are asking for the rules to be followed.

I can’t see it myself.
