Their wage bill was up at over £40m on a realistic turnover of £20m, he inflated turnover by bogus sponsorship deals. The FFP accounting practice will carry on in aggregate for next year and so on.

Chanseri can spend effectively what he wants, all he needs to do if gift money to the club as equity, not invest as debt and FFP wouldn’t apply. Thing is he won’t do that for obvious reasons.

logically, the independent panel could not effectively relegate them at this late stage. Had they done the hearing early in the season, like last September then I’m sure it would have applied to this season gone. If they did deduct 12 points this season, within the legal framework of FFP, the punishment would be appealed and they would have a high chance to win that appeal and the matter would have been kicked further in the grass. As much as id love to Wednesday to get points deducted this last season, it was realistically never going to happen.

Great news. We now start next season with an advantage. To those saying WIGAN should be getting their lawyers or whatever, why would we hope that? If they overturn their point deduction to next season instead of this one, we go down. Bottom line is if we're in the Championship, I'm happy. Sheffield Wednesday starting with -12points next season means we already got off to a good start next season as far as I'm concerned.

If Wigan win their appeal, added to this, I wouldn’t blame our owners for chalking f*ck on it.

I seem to have been looking at the same table that someone else above was. Or rather I was doing the same maths they were. 56 - 10 is 46 but it's 12 not 10 so that's 48 not 46
See where I went spectacularly wrong?

If Wigan win their appeal on top of this there should be demonstrations and protests outside the EFL headquarters. The entire country would be behind the rioters who wouldn't just be barnsley fans, theyd be barnsley fans, Charlton fans, bury fans, Bolton fans, Macclesfield fans etc.

I hope Conway's got the lawyers on speed dial cause he's going to need them, Barnsley FC are going to be shafted with Wigan's deduction either being reduced or put on next season so we go down. He has to make good on his statement that Barnsley FC will seek legal redress to make the EFL abide by and enforce it rules and punish cheaters this season not next.

I had a dream this happened. We ended up relegated and the owners just gave up. Said it wasn’t worth it and refused to fulfil any fixtures next season.

Did I imagine it or did the Dee dars commit some kind of fraud too? Didn't declare it in their company accounts for the correct year or something?
Surely if that's the case then legal action should be taken against them by the state

It won’t matter cos Gibson and the rest who were all mouth and mighty when they were relegation candidates will shrug their shoulders now it doesn’t affect them and gives them an advantage next season !

errr, no I can't. Even if -10 is applied they are below Barnsley and still relegated.

They should be a relegated club - Right Now. They should be planning on a L1 campaign next season.

That's what the last sentence refers to.

I did 56 minus 10 which is obviously 46 then realised it was 12 not 10 so for some reason I thought 'ill add 2 on cos 12 is 2 more than 10' when obviously that means I had to take an extra 2 off.

The timing is very strange. The same day as the Wigan appeal. I hope this is not sending a subliminal message to the appeal.

Wigan and Wednesday are vastly different cases.

The rules specificity say Wigan’s penalty must be this season.

Wednesday’s decision was made with a range of punishments and options available

When the correct outcome happens with Wigan we start 12 in front of Wednesday next year.

    Win win.
