    The deduction has been deferred so they get the same punishment as Derby. A points deduction for the Rams this season would have no effect so they'll implement it next season and "it wouldn't be fair" to treat the two differently for the same offense.

    He’s sat and chaired FA hearings but the Independent appeals is appointed by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
    They come from various different companies.

    So Coventry, Rotherham and Wycombe not only get an artificial promotion, they also get a bit of help next season too. Charlton, Hull and ourselves are just collateral damage!

    Just been having a quick gander at the Wendy’s board and curiously there are as many posters who think they would be better off taking the hit now and starting next season in league one as there are those happier with staying in the championship with a -12 start.
    In contrast there is one joker who thinks they can still make the champions playoffs from a -12 start :D

    Has anyone found the EFL regulations relating to the Independent Disciplinary Commission? If the Derby hearing is indeed a consideration for their decision then I'd question whether they are stepping beyond their remit - surely the management of and relationship between different panels is a matter for the EFL rather than the panels themselves? For me it begs the question whether the panel determined when the penalty should be applied or whether they were influenced / instructed on this by the EFL, minded of the different timescale on the Derby hearing.

    Not surprised - starting with -12 they'll always be playing catch up.

    Wonder if Wednesday were given the choice of going down now or starting on -12 next season.
    (I would chose the first option.)

    In normal circumstances I agree but I think the uncertainty of if and when crowds will be back because of Covid-19 make it different. The additional c.£6m through being in the Championship could be the difference between surviving and not. The Wigan situation is a fore-runner to others - I am convinced that there will be a number of clubs going into administration in the coming months.
