... that the decision will be announced at a specific time such as 4pm tomorrow (as Wigan fans appear to know)? It would at least stop me checking in on here every 10 minutes or so!!
If I'd realised that we still wouldn't know what league we'd be in till the 4th August, I probably wouldn't have been as nervous watching the Brentford game
Haha, I agree. I almost feel like I won't be that bothered either way once the decision is announced - very different from watching a game!
Not for me. I would have preferred to have gone down at conclusion of the Brentford game when it was only to be expected. If we go down now it will be the worst experience since we lost at Leicester to go down from the premiership
Could we organise a beam back from Conway's hotel room/billionaire business suite at Tankersley manor as the news comes in........annnnnnnnnnd we're down! Cue a frustrated and drunken dismantling of Conway's Corgi trouser press as he tries in vain to get Lee et al. on a conference blower. We all watch on from the Ponty, our ashen and tear-stained faces silently willing him on. £7/5 — adults/kids
The season "ends" with the playoff final tomorrow. I'd expect any announcement to be before the game kicks off (so it's part of the 19/20 season) and quite close to kick off so any onerous decisions are quickly drowned in "THE RICHEST GAME OF FOOTBALL EVAH" build-up hype.
Wigan's administrator has just been on Talksport, gave no definitive time / date of an announcement, just that it would be embarrassing if it wasn't confirmed before the fixtures are meant to be released next week, and hopefully "early this week". Nothing really new in the interview, just how impressed he was at how well it all ran via Zoom.
BFC have asked fans to follow social distancing guidelines & not to celebrate outside Oakwell at 4pm on Tuesday........
It's so annoying, this whole waiting game. I get less and less confident the longer it goes on too. It's such a shambles from the EFL that it got to this point - the appeal should've been before the season ended
He's been helping gather evidence for the QC apparently. Seems a rather annoying young chap, who responds to most challenges by Barnsley fans by stating that they need to read up on the matter as opposed to engaging in debate. However, he does appear to be generally in the know. Here's his twitter: https://twitter.com/RobboHarry
To keep your sanity over the next few days expect to be well and truly shafted by the EFL and then when the result is announced if we have been shafted its no surprise but if by some miracle the EFL suddenly finds its moral compass and justice preveils and we aren't shafted it will seem all the sweeter.
I’m mixed emotions tbh at times I feel we can’t lose and all the positivity and logical explanations that comes with It next I think back to other EFL judgements . One of the judgements was the disgusting Carlos Tevez affair , I think the blunts got compensation for that but the injustice was still done with every club agreeing with blunts but non backing them and fans doing what fans do and take to piss .
We shouldn’t be too surprised if the decision goes against us tomorrow. There’s as many legal experts on here as epidemiologists like, but these are strange times we live in. We live in a world where Donald Trump and Boris Johnson are in charge of $hit. We should all know by now that owt could happen.
