    If I see 20 posts saying *******, or equally 20 posts saying gettin it gives me a fair idea without having to open 2 or 4 threads I'm surprised you haven't merged already

    It is. Recently I have been swaying towards merging stuff. Which for me is a massive change of stance.

    Maybe it's a compromise that some are merged after a day or 2. Dunno.

    I find merged threads annoying personally. Like on the Hearts board for eg. when I was looking to get info on their legal battle I had to go through pages to find out what was going off. Whereas if a new thread had been allowed saying, decision announced Monday I'd have known straight away. I think if we had a lot more traffic on this site it would be different though

    I merge loads of threads. Half of the time people probably don't even realise.

    It makes the BBS experience far slicker in my opinion and allows multiple topics to be discussed by different groups of people. Plus, what gets merged gets put in to a thread with loads of content about that topic.

    Same here. I much prefer to see thread titles with clear information rather than having to scroll through 10 pages where it's gone off on 50 different tangents.
