Seem to think we are to blame for their relegation because we insisted on having our say to the appeal panel and that messed up their appeal
There was never any real grounds for the appeal in the first place, their anger would be more appropriately aimed at their owners and their predecessors.
How can they not understand that things have been coming to a head for a while. Paying ridiculous amounts in transfer fees and wages for a few seasons but no its BFC's fault. Most recently 11.5m in turnover and wages accounting for 19.4m!!! I hope they go the way of Bury FC, **** em, arrogant sods. Dave Whelan knew when it was the right time to get out. He couldn't keep bankrolling them.
It's not our fault they built up a massive wage bill, spent money they didnt have, lost millions season upon season and got 4k less fans than us on average. I hope they can rebuild and learn from past mistakes off the field though
Or against the EFL for having a fit and proper persons test which is in practice negligent. I would not be entirely surprised to see a damages claim against the EFL from Wigan. Thinking about it the Tribunal appeal may not seem as big a waste of money as it might appear - much of the work will assist with a claim, and the findings of the Tribunal may also assist with those arguments.
Tbh I don’t think the EFL guarantee fit and proper owners test it’s just a check to try and stop em .
Or say we’re talking ****, which a Wigan fan’s just said to me on Twitter just for responding to her having a go at us for standing up for ourselves. They don’t get it at all.
Who’s bothered what they think? Justice has been done and rules adhered to. Hope they enjoy L1....if they have a club at all.
This should serve as a warning to umpteen clubs the bubble will eventually burst. I have some empathy with genuine fans they must be reeling as we speak but the writing was on the wall long before this season we benefited from their long term mismanagement but it is not the fault of Barnsley FC they were run by big business people who were clearly on the high risk strategy. There needs to be urgent reform from the ruling bodies and much more financial responsibility from owners otherwise TJF (The jobs Fxxked)
People keep mentioning the 168% figure to them and they suddenly go quiet. Deluded. Thick as foooook.
I have been pretty impressed with the quality of your posts though all this. Therefore, do you have an opinion as to how the FPP test should be improved? As far as I can see it would need to be able to predict future actions and I’m not sure how you could do so. I certainly think that owners should have to place a proportion of their projected budget into an escrow account, or some sort of bond that is forfeited on default. And, even better, abolish the parachute payment system that encourages owners to gamble big in order to compete.
Yep. *lists reasons why they're in this situation* "Wrong, you haven't a clue, go away and do some research" *returns after research confirms everything written previously* "You just don't understand, you finished in the bottom 3, we finished 13th etc etc"
