What an absolute clusterfcuk all round.

All started by the American gun problem with police approaching the car gun drawn ready to shoot.
Escalated massively by George Floyd being off his tits on drugs refusing to follow even the simplest of instructions
Escalated even further by the overly confrontational approach of Chauvin who says something like "you'll not win"
Yet more and stronger resistance of arrest and shouts of "I can't breathe" when nobody was doing anything to stop him breathing and compounded by an aggressive kneeling on his neck as an attempt to control him (he was really resisting their attempts to put him on the floor) and everyone completely ignoring his further shouts of I can't breathe.

Everything about the entire arrest shows what is wrong with America.
Guns drawn instantly because they are so common.
Suspect aggressively resisting arrest, shouting wildly and creating a big scene.
Aggressive cops who scream and swear at the suspect further escalating it before extreme physical restraint is used and we all know the outcome.

What I will say though is that as sad as it is the video doesn't show anything at all to suggest racism played any part. At least not on the police's part. They responded to a call, the suspect was pointed out to them and said suspect reacted extremely aggressively and erratically spiraling the whole thing.

The US needs to reassess its entire policy on guns and on policing but let's be honest, if you've seen the video it could be any skin colour involved which is frankly just as scary

8 minutes knelt on his neck.
16+ times during that he told them he couldn't breathe.
4 policeman against one man they had restrained on the floor.
    1 outcome = murder

I know it was in the title but I guess it went off course to become more about immigration. Just noting this thread is liable to become heated too that's all :)

Can I just say something without being controversial.
A bit of advice is wanted here.
When stopped by a police Officer take note of how we used to deal with things in more civilised times.
When questioned we would say ‘no officer’ and ‘yes officer’.
We would do exactly what the police officer asked us to do - for example we wouldn’t make a fuss or the equivalent these days of reachIng for our phone and start filming them.

This advice also applies to you if you are black.
You are not exempt from this courteous behaviour if you are black.
If you are black just remember that a large and disproportionate number of black people are being murdered by other black people who carry knifes and guns.
The police are doing their best to save black lives by carrying out stop and search.
So as a black person be grateful that this stop and search is happening.

Which brings me onto a related topic - while ever there are black Labour MPs playing the race card - like we have seen this last week - then I for one will never vote for that political party ever again.

It's worth watching "Bowling For Columbine" Michael Moore's documentary film on the aftermath of the Columbine shootings.

America has made itself fear everything, coupled with abundant guns... booom.

No ........ but Labour are trying to make political capital out of it.
Political opportunism - of a poor fella losing his life.
And black Labour MP Dawn Butler trying to keep that ball rolling.

Oh please **** off. Dawn Butler's stop and the reasons.provided by the Met don't hold up to any sensible form of scrutiny. The press haven't run with it instead been told to say hoards of illegals are invading the channel.

FFS, there’s millions around the world black and white ‘keeping the ball rolling’ as you put it. It needs to keep rolling until there’s change. Your true agenda really showing through here you really are a horrible case of a person

The NRA had limited influence and power before Columbine.

    More often than you'd imagine.
I read books fairly regularly (ish) and really enjoy watching comedies and 'simple' TV and can't beat watching movies that most would consider a 'chick flick'.

I also will listen to any old rubbish in terms of music. I don't care if it's the socially acceptable indie or rock style music that most would admit to liking or if it's little mix, one direction or even Justin Bieber. If I enjoy something then I really don't care what anyone else thinks of it and as much as people may dislike the whole manufactured 'safe' pop of the likes of one direction when I'm listening to a song I don't really care about the back story, if it's a happy song that makes me smile then I'm happy.

But at the same time I'm the kind of person who likes to understand things more which is why I read up on things and will watch things like this video to try to understand what happened more instead of just going off a short video or of someone else's interpretation. I think that's why I dislike the supporters meetings the club does where the rest of us get little snippets from a select few and why I constantly push for and ask for more information. It's not that I'm deliberately being arsey but I simply want to try to understand it more. What was actually said, what did they mean etc. It's why I really liked Dane's q&a video that he did because I was getting the full information direct from the source.
It's also why I will spend hours debating or arguing with someone on here because even though it doesn't look like it I'm actually trying to take in all the new information. And it's why I can get frustrated when someone won't explain what they mean.

and that was a longer post than I expected it to be :)

We need to hang out some time.

Although I bet I’d find you a right two hat in real life, everyone always seem to be different to their online persona.
