Moore is clearly the better centre forward, but given the role either them would be likely to play, which is plan B desperation, then Halme probably offers better value. His goals per minutes ratio when playing up front probably isn't half bad either.
the transfer fee is said to be £2 million. We should get a slice of that . How much do Wigan still owe us ?
Not sure about these stats but comparing different stats sites they seem to be fairly consistent.... Moore scores a goal every 281 minutes.. and provides an assist every 702 minutes. Not exactly prolific for a target midfielder. Halme scores a goal every 572 minutes but then again he is a defender . He provided zero assist (again according to available stat) but his tackle rate/ success is better than Moore which as a defender one would expect . His completed pass rate is higher than Moore's though but I suppose that could be down to simple passes playing out from the back adding those stats though The only reason I post this is someone said they would pick Moore over Halme "up front every time ". One is a 22 year old defender and one is a 28 year old target man. Not sure it is a fair comparison. My abiding memory of Moore is not the goals and making a nuisance of himself amongst opponents defenders, good though that was, but the sheer number of chances he needed to score and the amount of fouls (and misplace passes he gave away. For a big man he didn't half go down easily too . Admittedly, on balance, he was a loss, but, IMHO, not as big a loss as some made out and certainly not worth the money or wages that Wigan forked out. For that reason alone I believe we can do better.
£1.5m still owed to us according to this: https://www.wigantoday.net/sport/football/kieffer-moore-set-wigan-athletic-exit-2939913
its in the newas down here too. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...rdiff-city-pip-middlesbrough-kieffer-18755807
The only problem with that is I doubt we’ll see a penny of it until Wigan find a new owner and that doesn’t appear to be any further on than it was the day they lost the appeal. If only we could get it directly from Cardiff
It would come from the administrators, they have to pay any football debts before passing the club onto any new owner. Any fee they get for Moore will be used to pay what is owed from his fee to us.
I know that. What concerns me is that they need to find a new owner first before that can realistically happen and it doesn’t look promising for them at the moment.
