From what I was reading yesterday, the money goes straight to the EFL, who use it to pay football creditors. Before they can use the money for wages or anything else.
That sounds correct. I seem to remember that happening when we were in Administration and sold Chris Barker to Cardiff City, the EFL held onto the money for the same reason.
I'm not sure I follow. Thought you said we wouldn't see a penny of the money owed to us by Wigan? We will get that money from them while they are in administration, it's not dependant on them finding a new owner, it's dependant on them finding the money, which is why players are being sold. If they sell Moore to Cardiff, that is more than likely going to be used to pay the instalment of the fee they owe us.
I do hope your right with that, because otherwise we could end up with a fraction of what we are owed One Wigan fan has posted on their site that the Gelhardt money being used to pay the players but that can’t be right
If we end up with a fraction of what’s owed, then Wigan will be looking at a 15 point deduction next season. Didn’t know about the EFL holding the money, but that should help.
In order to carry on being a member of the EFL, football creditors must be paid in full. We’ll get what we’re owed.
With all due respect I prefer @BarnsleyReds take on it. My fear is/was that if they go into liquidation we would then have to stand in line with all the other creditors. Ie Wigan would no longer have a concern about retaining their football share. However it seems like the EFL will hold on to transfer fee receipts to pay football creditors
My overriding concern was what would happen if Wigan went belly up, in which case they won’t be around at the start of next season.
Fair point, yes, if they are liquidated then any EFL punishment becomes redundant. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
Good manager is mick but that was a mistake of his to seem kieffer no needed but keep some of the ***** they had.
Surely buyer beware applies. They do a medical & look at his medical records, which will be shared with consent. Unless they can prove anything was hidden, they haven't a leg to stand on, unless @BarTyke can tell me different?
I think this is fair analysis. Making a nuisance at times could be an unrecorded assist, and a lot of closing down in the first line of defence also. At times a very frustrating finisher, a bit like Brown TBH. He would have been valuable last season certainly, given our lack of aerial threat.
