Just been on look North. No doubt encouraged by the slating that the appeals panel gave to the EFL. By the time it's heard they will probably get the points pushed back to the season after next
The fkrs certainly Don’t appeal to me! If they had any shame they should have just sucked it up and cracked on.. but suppose when you’re massive ........
EFL wanted to apply the points deduction this season and relegate them. Sheffield Wednesday: EFL wanted to apply 12-point deduction in 2019-20 season https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53803735
There should be a frivolous appeal penalty like with red cards. That would have put a stop to the Wigan nonsense.
In this situation, the only fitting punishment for that club is a 12 point deduction every season in perpetuity.
Im confused I thought this was the result of an appeal already by the EFL who wanted them relegating this season. Are Wednesday appealing to get their penalty brought forwards to last season as well or saying that 12 points isnt enough
They’re saying that 12 points is too much; and/or It should have been applied the previous season when they finished 24 points clear of relegation... Can’t say it’s a wise move, it will just leave a cloud hanging over them.
Thanks and thats just bizarre - no way they can have the penalty backdated 2 seasons and their current 12 points definitely seemed a very light penalty.. Hopefully they get the penalty increased
Is that a possibility? ie.if they lose the appeal the penalty can be increased? That would be such sweet justice. Please make it so,oh football gods
It's all getting ridiculous now, the owls have publicly been found out to have cheated, just about all the clubs find it disgraceful that they have "got away with it". Just take your medicine and lie low and try not to make too many noises that will make everyone think even worse. Charlton may as well role the dice (which they actually have good reason to). It all feels a bit like the burglar who has broken into a home, destroyed peoples precious things and lives and then sued because he hurt himself nicking the stuff in their house!!
They should allow the appeal, hear it instantly and then agree it was wrong.Thank them for making them aware. Then move the deduction to the season just finished, resulting in relegating them.
The irony is that I've read a few posters on their board suggest they should appeal to highlight how appallingly run the efl is and that the whole game needs cleaning up.
