    Plans on the council planning portal seem to suggest someone wants that land for ‘The sale and display of Garden Sheds’. The traffic is atrocious down there anyway. There are also plans for about 250 houses near the old B&Q/behind Tesco just to add to the traffic problems, although, the plans do seem to suggest that the pointless bus lane adjacent to the old B&Q will be removed.

    If a new stadium was to ever be built I would imagine it would be close to either Junction 36 or 37 of the M1. However, the Barnsley West and Hoyland Masterplans pretty much use all the available land near those junctions so they’d have to move swiftly.

    I cant recall the many away fans who told me they love the away day at Barnsley fc.
    Walking to a real Football ground with character.
    As opposed to the plastic stadiums like MK done Keepmoat etc with no soul
    Hope this is not another Coventry city .
