How has your close season been, stronger or weaker? Us Hatters have been quite on transfers this summer, shipped out about eight or nine including a couple of decent players and Bree and Carter Vovkers have ended their loan spells. Only got one in so far, Jordan Clark from Accrington. Rumours we will get Lockyer from Charlton and may get Bree on a permenant signing from Villa but nothing confirmed yet. How's your balance sheet. Looking like we will struggle again as it stands

Balance sheet is undisclosed and it's been quite quiet on the transfer front.

I'm taking confidence, as should you, that we've survived last season, showed that fighting spirit and have that bit of experience that could prove crucial. Sheffield Wednesday are starting 4 wins behind us too, so hopefully that means only 2 other relegation spots
For us personally I am very excited at the thought of Simoes and Styles developing into exciting championship players. Just a shame we're not there to see it in person.

Quiet one on the transfer front, I have heard we have knocked bids back for 2 of our better players so wouldnt be suprised to see us lose them before the season starts. Big positive for us was callum styles signing a new deal and good to see ludwig back on loan, hopeful if we keep this squad together we wont be in a dog fight again and can aim for mid table.

Stronger - Biggest business we can do is to retain our current crop and move forwards. The experience gained at this level for our young players last year was invaluable and will pay dividend this season. We look more solid towards the end of last season and play some cracking football just miss that bit of class in the last 3rd. I think we’ll be mid table this season no higher due to our wastefulness in front of goal.

Quiet one thus far but can see us annihilating our opposition on the opening day :p

New centre forward and Mowatt re-signing along with some defensive cover and we'll be o.k.

Cauley woodrow and jacob brown forest bid for woodrow and stoke for brown both bids knocked back (but they were low) from someone who I regard as a very reliable person.

It's inconceivable to me that we will finish below Rotherham or Wycombe.

That leaves one more to find.

That's all I am interested in, really. Keep building slowly, without risking the future of the club. I expect one of our big hitters will go before the transfer window shuts. I just hope that we don't sell too cheaply, and that we reinvest wisely.

Provided we don't do something utterly moronic even by our standards before the transfer window closes, I'd bet my house on us finishing above Wycombe. They were 8th in L1 before the season was halted!

We sold our top scorer last season with 4 days of the window left and no replacement lined up. That would take some beating. I do expect us to sell at least one of our better players before the window ends.

Brew has a problem with passing to someone with the same colour shirt on.

I think Rotherham might just do well this season , by well I mean lower mid table & take a few notable scalps on the way

It’s been quiet as to be expected. We saw a gradual improvement from a very inexperienced team last year so if that continues I think we will do ok. I do think we need to sign 2/3 players and ship out some more deadwood. Wednesday and Wycombe will go down I think both us sbf you will be ok.

It's a bit of a fool's game predicting how strong we are or how well we will do. The fact is that few people on this forum will be surprised to see two or even three of our best players go before the window shuts. If that happens - and our board has previous - we can look forward to a season of toil.

Thanks, interesting. You may have a good win on opening day ;) The experience of last season will really help, we had eight of our league two squad playing most of last season and it took a long time for them to see they could not play the same as they did. With a new centre back and left back we could be lower/mid table. No sign of a new striker so we will get no higher. No new signings and we will be pushed, At least with Wycombe, Rotherham and Coventry coming up neither of us are newbies to hard league.

With games in hand. Hadnt been out of the top 6 for most of it. I wouldn't be too sure they will go straight back down, I rate Ainsworth as a manager and their team spirit is right up there. Plus they arent above a bit of shithousery when needed.

I am not comfortable with the view we are bound to be better than Wycombe and Rotherham we are getting all Wednesdayitus. I hope we are better than them but at least one of the 3 promoted sides may do better than expected I think we should be good enough for mid table but last time we managed a great escape we went down the following season. I have more confidence in Struber not to make the same mistakes but I am not complacent
Hope Birmingham and Wednesday go down and it’s certainly possible they will
